Guest guest
Temper that concept with a little caution. I happen to be a celiac and LDN helps but does not eliminate all symptoms. I still get severe sinus congestion with any form of wheat product. It is better because the migraines don’t occur, but there is still a reaction. So don’t just go hog wild without doing a little self – experimentation. Everything works different for everyone and then not all the time. Guest guest
Dear Shirley, I'm celiac, and no, celiacs can NOT eat anything. Well, let's just say nothing with wheat, barley (beer) oats or rye. You can eat meat, fish or any other protein as long as it's not breaded like many restaurants serve these days. It's hard to avoid gluten when eating out, but if you suspect your hubby is celiac then avoid anything that has touched white flour. No pasta, pizza, bagels, biscuits, breads, breading, cookies, cake, tortillas, or pretzels, etc since these are all made with enriched wheat flour. You can get GF pizza, pasta, and breads, cookies, brownies, etc in the health food store. I hope that this helps! I've never heard of someone giving a dog LDN, for what? Good health to you, Sharon > Phoned New York to ask " Bill " in Bihari's office for > dosage for dogs. No " proper Dosage, ask your vet " . > As for humans, Celiacs can safely eat anything. Guest guest
Thanks Shirley, I am playing around with Madeline's dosage. It started out 2.2 but I increased it to 4.5 last night. She is a large Golden retreiver. Not overweight but the British type with the broad head. Very beautiful inside and out. I am going to help her live the best quality of life she can and see what God has in store for her. I am giving her fish oil, boswellia, turmeric and lots of vegetables. I am not putting my dog through chemo and letting her suffer needlessly. I am also giving her medicinal mushrooms. Kathy [low dose naltrexone] Restrictions----Bihari says NONE!! Guest guest
Very much agree with Bruce on this one! Since feeling better (courtesy of LDN), I have allowed myself to be tempted of the "straight & narrow" of my somewhat austere dietary regimen & am paying the price! Being Secondary Progressive MS with the level of neurological damage that implies, I have now confirmed for myself that appropiate dietary modifications can make a significant difference to the degree of success achieved by the use of LDN: In the more progressed stages of MS, it would seem that the use of additional supportive factors may well prove to be decisive for some (in terms of whether or not the use of LDN is judged to have been a success.) These supportive factors include exercise & yoga (careful & thorough stretching, better breathing), IF done at an suitable level for one`s condition. -Appropiate nutritional supplements can also make a big difference to the overall outcome! For SPMS, I believe that it is helpful to see LDN not so much as a "magic bullet" rather a POTENTIALLY decisive factor in our efforts to improve our health: -Whether or not this potential is actually realized may well depend on the decisions we make regarding whether or not we utilize these other supportive factors. Best Wishes, everyone! Gerald RE: [low dose naltrexone] Restrictions----Bihari says NONE!! Temper that concept with a little caution. Guest guest
Hello, Not sure who I should be sending this to,so would be very grateful for any responses. I am in Australia and have just learnt about low dose naltrexone. Can anyone give me any info about the impact of ldn on multiple chemical sensitivities? I am in the process of having it made up now, altho had difficulty getting it made using the pure powder which I thought was necessary considering the fillers etc in the tablets.I am also using the avacil base. From what I have read,I expect it may help with the pain and energy levels but would be for ever grateful if it made any impact at all on the chemical sensitivities I have had for most of my life now. And also whether anyone was unable to tolerate it? I look forward to hearing from any of you that may have some info for me. Thank you.
