Guest guest
Dear Carol, The final conference call in our 2005 series on the Medicare Modernization Act, “Low-Income Subsidy Enrollment--Where Do We Stand?â€, originally scheduled for September 19th, has been postponed. The new date is Monday, October 17th at 2:30 PM Eastern Time. This call will include a discussion of initial impressions of the Part D plans, as well as updates on the enrollment process. We will send you an invitation to register approximately one week before the call. We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. We are also pleased to announce a recent two-part publication from Families USA: The Holes in Part D: Gaps in the New Medicare Drug Benefit Filling the Holes in Part D: The Essential Role of State Pharmacy Assistance Programs These publications, part of our series “Gearing Up: States Face the New Medicare Law,†discuss how the Part D benefit may not meet all the needs of low-income beneficiaries and what states can do to plug the holes in the programs. Issues discussed include cost-sharing, non-covered drugs, and increasing enrollment. For more information on the Medicare Modernization Act, visit Medicare Central.
