Guest guest
Researched online and chatted to some of you and then spoke to GP saying I disagree with my ME diagnosis. I found thyroid symptoms can mimic ME and infact all my symptoms can be explained with it. I already take thyroxine and found some years ago my blood tests don't reflect the true state of my thyroid. Having researched this lately also, it's not uncommon and makes it difficult to manage the thyroid sometimes. The research said there are many people out there who have been tested, found the thyroid ok- wrongly- and then diagnosed with ME!!! Unfortunately my own GP retired a few months ago and I have new one, who didn't sound convinced by what I said, but did blood tests anyway. Got call today from surgery good news is my thyroid levels have dropped and so has my iron. I am excited that I may be one step nearer to being on the mend and hopefully not have to manage ME. Will keep you posted on how I get on. Anyone who prays- pray- everyone else keep your fingers crossed for me. I wish you could all get answers like that with a brighter hope for the future, Regards Helen
