Guest guest
Hi all, Does LDN act as an anti-inflamatory?
Guest guest
I would suggest that LDN boosts the immune system making sure that it has the power to overcome some illnesses. As far as I understand it antinflamatories suppress the immune system and therefore get rid of symptoms caused by the immune system doing it's job properly. Just an opinion. Guest guest
LDN (or any intervention) could be regarded as having anti-inflammatory properties if it could mitigate a pathophysiology that produces inflammation (e.g. LDN for rheumatoid arthritis). The precise mechanisms of action of LDN remain unclear/at issue (as are the pathophysiologies of diseases that have been reported to respond to LDN). A common denominator appears to be (endorphin mediated?) immune system regulation but other mechanisms such as actions against-> oxidative stress, excitotoxicity, proinflammatory factors have been hypothesized. Example for neurodegenerative diseases: http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/cgi/content/full/304/1/1 Example for MS: http://www.acceleratedcure.org:8080/article.pl?sid=05/01/27/1748256 Still researching, Best Wishes, Josh > Hi all, > > Does LDN act as an anti-inflamatory?
