Dear Connie,

Someone maybe able to help you get your programs working on your

laptop. In the meantime, if you do the recordings in BioExplorer on

your desk top computer and put the data through BioReview you can

transfer the text files to your laptop and do the assessments in Excel

there.

Lkay, Thanks Rah. Is this going to be hard for me to understand how

to put the data through BioReview?

Well, I don't know if you will have a hard time understanding it. If you have all the files from the Brain-trainer site (including instructions) and have the recordings done already, you may open BioReview and try one.

Open BioReview

Report

Open

Navigate to the Report file (probably you saved it in BioExplorer/Reports) and open it.

Maximize View 1 window

Report

Run on Session

Navigate to the session file (probably you saved it in BioExplorer/Sessions) and open it.

View

Export

be sure Tab is checked

OK

Navigate to the place where you want to save the files.

Name the file.

Save

Pete has more detailed instructions, including creating folders and naming files.

Lots of help on this list.

Connie~

If you follow the directions for the TLC assessment I think you should do well.

You should be able to load the software onto many computers, you just cant use it on more than one computer at a time, and...you dont need to load BM software if you are going to use BE.

If and when you buy a USB-serial port adapter, make sure you buy the KEYSPAN. Most others wont work with the Brainmaster..

It'd a 2E and I am using bioexplorer software. While the unit is connecting is displays the "sync error" message. The channel one signal starts out very noisy and then calms down. Go to your Start menu and find " My Computer "

RIGHT-click and cloose Properties.

Select the Hardware tab at the top of the window, then click the Device Manager

button.

Find Ports on the list and click the + beside it.

Do you find the BrainMaster listed there, or the USB adaptor?

Note what port is assigned, and make sure you are using that same port in

BioExplorer.

Are you using a computer that has a COM port, or are you connecting your

Brainmaster through a USB port? If so, what kind of adaptor are you using? The

adaptor is the cable that goes between the BrainMaster cable and the USB port on

your computer.

In BioExplorer, go to the BioExplorer menu

Select Devices.

You probably have only one item on the list: the Brainmaster.

If you have more than one on the list, make sure only BrainMaster is checked.

Thanks for your fast reply. In device manager, under ports (COM & LPT) there is only one choice in the drop down menu which is "printer port (LPT1)-that's it. My BM is connecting through a USB port and has a keyspan adaptor. In the bioexplorer program I only have one device which is BM and the box is checked. THanks again. You might want to try typing in several other numbers and trying them out to see if you get "connected". The computer then may come up with an extra port for you to use, this has worked for me once.

Hi Pete,

I've tried everything and still it says syc error. At my

device manager is only indicates Brain master Atlantis, no

port. On Bio-explorer it is connected on port 5, with this

sync error and am not able to get a clean reading. Please

advise.

If you don't see the Keyspan listed under ports when it is plugged in and the

BMer is turned on, you have not installed the drivers for the Keyspan properly.

You should have gotten a disk with it. Make sure that is done, that the Keyspan

is showing up under ports, that you have set the port for BrainMaster in

BioExplorer to the same port number, and you should be fine.

Under ports in the drop down menu in the device manager, but ....if you are getting a "connected" then you are connected, I guess. As long as you don't see the sync error then you are OK.

Diane,

Unfortunately the folks at Brainmaster and BioExplorer haven't yet gotten

together to update the drivers for Atlantis in BioExplorer. You won't be able

to use the Atlantis with anything but BrainMaster 2.5 or above software. My

Atlantis also shows a constant sync error.
