Guest guest
Hi Karl, My neurologist in Sydney has told me that even if he wanted to prescribe this to me (which he didn't definiately rule out but didn't seem as excited as i am at the prospect), the drug is just too hard to come by in the required form (ie very low doses) within Australia. Not sure how correct this is or how much he was trying to make me forget it as an option. Will be interested to hear if there are any prescribing doc's in Sydney (or Australia for that matter). Take care & good luck, Chantal > G'day all > > I am wondering if anyone knows a doctor in Sydney > (australia) that prescribes LDN? > > thanks > > Karl > > > > >
Guest guest
The answer to this, is to find that source in " the land down under " or if you can order it from out of the country. Once you have a source, then you have answered one of his hurdles. Please also see the links to " how to talk to your doctor " by Maureen below: The following is from Maureen on how to talk to your doctor: the Doctor's Folder, the folder of information to show your doctor: http://www.larrygc.com/ldn/ldndoctorsfolder.doc The other is a Patient's Guide to Explaining LDN to your Doctor, which will help you present the Folder to your doctor without your doctor's head exploding: http://www.larrygc.com/ldn/ldnpatientguide.doc Re: [low dose naltrexone] Prescriber in Sydney > Hi Karl, > > My neurologist in Sydney has told me that even if he wanted > to prescribe this to me (which he didn't definiately rule > out but didn't seem as excited as i am at the prospect), the > drug is just too hard to come by in the required form (ie > very low doses) within Australia. > > Not sure how correct this is or how much he was trying to > make me forget it as an option. Guest guest
Hi Chantal, Your neuro doesn't know what he is talking about. There are plenty of people on LDN in Australia and quite a few compounding pharmacies who can make it up for you. Even though I am in Melbourne I now use The Green Dispensary in dale (Sth Aus) as do many others. Their prices are more than competitive, they do a lot of LDN, offer a choice of fillers and their service is first class. I emailed them mid Monday afternoon with my request for my next lot and they were paid for over the phone this morning (Thursday) and they are now on their way to me. (postage and handling is a measly $5) Original Message: ----------------- From: Chantal Lawrence clawrence@... Guest guest
Hi Chantal, I agree with , I got my first supply of LDN from the Green Dispensary as I could not find a supplier here in South Africa. I have subsequently found one here in SA from where we get ours now. Good luck and God Bless with your MonSter. Guest guest
If it is just the low dose he is worried about - have him prscribe the ful dose, dissolve it in water and take a few ml a night... lg Re: [low dose naltrexone] Prescriber in Sydney Hi Karl,My neurologist in Sydney has told me that even if he wantedto prescribe this to me (which he didn't definiately ruleout but didn't seem as excited as i am at the prospect), thedrug is just too hard to come by in the required form (ievery low doses) within Australia. Guest guest
There is a compounding pharmacy in Lismore that will prepare as required. Just can't think of the name of it !
