" I don't know what you mean by " generic Lipitor. " There are no FDA-approved generic versions of Lipitor legally available in the United States. Pfizer holds the patent to Lipitor, and that patent doesn't expire till 2010. In 2004, Pfizer sued 24 different web-based corporations for selling bogus " generic Lipitor. " From a Pfizer press release: " Tests performed on tablets obtained from two of the websites selling 'generic Lipitor' showed that they contained no atorvastatin calcium, the active ingredient in Lipitor, and therefore would provide no therapeutic benefit to patients.
