I started taking Savella about 18 months ago, and it was a real life saver. I

had been on Lyrica, but it just wasn't doing enough for the pain. I am

constantly telling people to try Savella - it really works!

Hello Ursula,

Yes, I take Savella (50mgs, twice a day)....just checked my records and it's

been since last August. (wow...time flies eh?) Anyway, for me, like most

meds,it does cause some increased drowsiness, brain fog, dry mouth especially

when you first start taking it. Eventually, these side effects ease up a bit

and yes, I do chew gum to help with the drymouth- (but I take allergy meds year

round too so I've had dry mouth for many years.....???) but it has definitely

lessened my pain by a good 30-40% I'd say. I also take Lyrica (150mgs 2x a day,

which I started first) so I don't know what the effectiveness is on it's own.

Just a note...my brain fog was increasing and I don't know for sure if that was

due to meds, or just that symptom was getting worse 'naturally', so my doc put

me on a low dose of Ritalin (5 mg in am, 5 mg at noon) to help me stay focused

and clear my brain a bit. I've never been one to like taking all these meds,

but my pain is less, my focus is better and my quality of life has picked up

quite a bit. Can't really complain, but every one is different.

I hope this helps.....

I wish you all good luck and better days!!!
