Guest guest Posted August 26, 2005 Report Share Posted August 26, 2005 Viet Nam-made medicine for drug addiction used on trial 08/26/2005 -- 11:11(GMT+7) Ha Noi (VNA) - A medicine for curing drug addicts produced by the Central Pharmaceutical Company No. 5 in central Da Nang city is being tested at some health care establishments in Ha Noi. The product, Danapha-Natrex 50, with Naltrexone-hydrocorid as its major ingredient, has been produced in 50mg tablets at a cost of 25,000 VND per tablet. The price of a similar import from the US is 45,000 VND per tablet. The cost for a six-month treatment course for each patient is estimated at 5 million VND. According to the Director of the Central Pharmaceutical Company No. 5, the medicine works by counteracting the addictive effects of morphine and is not addictive itself.
