Guest guest
I did a search on Lorenzo's oil. I read a statement saying that it doesn't repair mylein. It is a very positive story about hope, determination... nothing a doctor would recommend.... [low dose naltrexone] Lorenzo's Oil I just saw a movie on Sunday called Lorenzo's Oil. It was about a child who developed ALD and the parents struggle to stop or cure him. Apparently ALD is a brain de-Myelinating disease and the Oil they had a chemist make stopped the progression. Over time the boy was able to begin to regain function after severe effects caused by ALD. There is a 800-xxx-xxxx number at the end of the film. oh here it is. Now its on the web http://www.myelin.org/ Hope for Multiple Sclerosis, the Leukodystrophies, and other Myelin Disorders You know my doctor never mentioned anything about Lorenzo's Oil. -
Guest guest
Thanks for the recommendation. Blockbuster has it. Kay -----Original Message----- I just got done watching a wonderful movie called Lorenzo's Oil. It was released in 1992 and is based on a true story, what made me love it so much was parents standing up to science and taking matters into their own hands. If you can get a copy I highly recommend watching it, we recorded it from cable I'm not sure if they are still playing it on Indieplex, there might be a chance that it is OnDemand with Comcast... if you don't have a chance to watch the movie google Lorenzo's Oil, so many different articles came up, one that I found interesting was one written by a health science site about how there is no " proof " ... Scientist and their proof, until we are all dead I don't believe they will have enough " proof " unless of course they are getting $$ for it than the " proof " comes magically. Guest guest
Another really good one is called " First Do No Harm. " It is about a 4 or 5 year old who suddenly starts having seizures. None of the seizure meds work AND they have horrible side effects. The parents have to go to extreames and against the medical community to save their son. This was also based on a true story. andrea > > I just got done watching a wonderful movie called Lorenzo's Oil. Guest guest
Nah, just scared silly! Fear certainly is a goad to education! There was a measure of loathing as well. I hated the way he was talked about right in front of him as though he was an insentient being. I hated the negative, dismissive and patronising tones, the fake smiles of those who were talking about him one minute, then leaning forward to baby-talk to him. There is a spark in the guy - he just needed the opportunity to prove them wrong! Maracuja Lorenzo's Oil > > > I just got done watching a wonderful movie called Lorenzo' s > Oil. Guest guest
Maracuja, I am so happy to hear that your son has done so well ! Lorenzo-and his family were an inspiration to our family as well ! I was devastated by Lorenzo's death this year because if anyone deserved answers or a miracle it should certainly have been granted to Lorenzo and his family. Lorenzo & his family gave us strength & hope & taught us never to give up ! God Bless Lorenzo ! My son also has outlived his prognosis by 8 years-however if we had listened to his doctors and accepted his prognosis he would not be here today--- We never give up hope-its amazing what you can achieve when you are determined to get answers ! especially when it involves helping your own children. He had already outlived the drs' prognoses by 8 years, and had bowel control, speech. mobility and had learned to ride a bike. Two years later he got the enuresis under control. > Lorenzo died in May this year, his life a testament to what motivated parents can achieve in the face of massive opposition. The part that stuck in my mind was the impassioned speech about " arrogo " - Lorenzo's father did not object to the LITERAL meaning " I claim!' when other parents tried to deter him with the epithet, arrogant! > > > > Lorenzo's Oil > > > I just got done watching a wonderful movie called Lorenzo' s Oil.
