Guest guest
I have thought maybe my lesion is caused by mold also and I can't find a solution to get rid of the mold b/c it's in my Plenum(where all ducts hook up under the house) and that means my air ducts are blowing mold spores all in my house and it can have the musky odor sometimes too. I think this has contributed to my chronic sinus. I have a damp crawl space and I have a plastic barrier down but after living here 12 years, the moisture has caused the air system to have mold in it. Even when I get a new air system, I don't know how to prevent the mold and the air ducts would have to be replaced. One company said they use Sporcidin but that is a pesticide and they said they would have to treat every 6 months b/c it is hard to get rid of all the spores. I also have exotic pets and cats and they sporcidin can kill them. They offered to pay for a hotel but I can't see me taking 9 animals to a hotel and when exactly is it safe to go back in my house. The sporcidin can't be good to be breathing but the mold isn't either. They say sporcidin is used in hospitals. I know mold is outside everywhere but can't be good to have in air system blowing molds all in my house. When I put out a couple mold kits that you incubate, every color mold showed up in the dish. I would like to live in a mold free house. I wasn't a sinus queen until a couple years of living in this house and from there had the lesion symptoms and went downhill. My lesion did become inactive on the Revia so maybe the LDN can help but I think my lesion was becoming active again on the generic so hopefully I can get back to good after a while on the BM Revia that worked for 6+ months. How are you getting your mold problem solved? Rhonda > Hi all, > > I would like to know if LDN would help my symptoms. Guest guest
I have CFS, and the LDN is helping me immensely-------so go for it. I've also dealt with mold in home. Are you having a specialist test? to the tune of $1,000?? Will your insurance cover?? Down here in the states things are pretty tricky to get payment. I saw Dr. R. Shoemaker, one the countrys leading neurotoxin MD's, and he said, " if you don't get the mold out, you'll never get well " . It cost $40,000 to cure a minor problem, no walls taken down etc. My inheritance from my very frugal parents inabled me to have the work done---thanks Mom and Dad. Guest guest
An extermiator's spray wand with tank (Home Depot) filled with oxygen bleach/water (Oxy Clean).Spray every square inch in the house. No more mold. Guest guest
Rhonda, where do you live? My doctor, Dr. R. Shoemaker, just published book, Mold Warriors. You can order at www.chronicneurtoxins.com or call his office, 410- 957-1550. Since it's been in the home for so long, don't see any recourse but to " remediate " --------or move. Could you move? Guest guest
It would be wonderful if that helped------but what about the mold imbedded in the floors, carpet, walls, furniture, and on and on??? And how does she get the supply vents clean, or stop the reason it happens???? I have heard of setting that sort of solution in a room for preventative measures, but not for remediation, BUT who knows. I do know that I'm chemically sensitive and the clorox would kill me. Guest guest
I'm in North Carolina and it's HUMID here a lot. I feel that I'm trapped and no way out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 RC
Guest guest
This might be second time this arrives??? Anyway, I too am in N.C. We have done some preventative measures after the thousands spent to remediate. Since the house is older, the plastic is up the walls and bottom of crawl space. Have humidifier running in crawl space, and vents closed (why let humidity in??) We have inexpensive humidity monitors from Radio Shack that read the crawl space, bedrooms, and other rooms-------we never allow it to get over 55%, which means doors and windows closed 90% of summer. We also learned to leave air on automatic, so the water collected when cycling isn't pushed into house. Our initial problem occured when on vacation and the drip line broke and house filled with humidity!!!!!!!!!!!! One way you might be able to go is purchase of an Aranizer. It is a potent ozone cleaner, that you set up in a room for several hours, then open windows and use fans to push ozone out for hour or more. There is a neat lady, Meehan-Patton, lives in Ashville, who's business is to help others determine how to " clear " homes and keep them free of mold. Her email, shelterco@.... I am chemical sensitive, and this unit saved me when visiting my daughters newly painted/remodeled home!!!!!!! Guest guest
I can see maybe using a De-humidifier but why would you want more moisture in crawl space. I don't want that for sure b/c condensation on AC unit is what caused the inside of plenum to mold. My dad put a fan under that running in summer b/c I had a plug outlet under the house. Not sure it's doing much but he has it pointed towards the AC unit part under house. Obviously didn't help the plenum from molding inside. I do have to figure out something when I get a new unit and I wonder the cost of all air ducts replaced. One place said I'd have to pay a service cost just for an estimate and I didn't do that. I did get one of those lifetime electromagnetic filters for the air return but not sure that is doing much. I keep vent filters on too and wash the electro filter once a month and leave out and let dry 2 days and put a regular filter in while the other dries out. It's not like I go under house and mold fur is everywhere but you can smell the dampness. My dad doesn't get it b/c he think he should see mold growing all over the wood under the house and doesn't get the mold in the plenum. The plenum I think could be washed with bleach or something but I can't do this myself and the spores/mold has to be all in the ducts. My ducts are the black mesh kind and they have installation around inside perimeter which that just holds moisture and dust/bacteria and blows in my house. I also keep the house vents open in summer and closed in cold winter. Seems to me that opening them would let more humidity in but my dad thinks it helps air the crawl space out. Well, he doesn't have to live in this or deal with sinus mess all the time so he does't really get it. He claims everyone has some mold in air systems. Guest guest
Silly me, I meant dehumidifier??? Did some research in the meantime---seems conventional wisdom is to not use chlorox---it is 70% water??? Ironically, my son called yesterday from the NC coast, and their vacation/rental there, one year old has visible mold in the toilet closet?? I've emailed an expert on mold to get advise--------as the contractor wants to tell him, " yep, been a lot of that this summer due to the humidity " . And this mold warrior, isn't taking that explanation. You are right, you don't have to see the mold, to know it's there. When my house was remediated, several wood items, old mantel, etc had to be removed and even though they " zapped " them in their trailer, wearing their moon suits, they advised me to never take back into the home------what a heartbreak. I " m in Greensboro------where for art though??? God Bless, Sara > > This might be second time this arrives??? > > > > Anyway, I too am in N.C.
