I think that stating what you want is an important stage towards change. In fact, to facilitate change, I would focus on the fact that I want whatever that goals is. And why I want it, all the reasons, I would let myself feel how badly I want it - - - then start shifting my thoughts to believing that I can have it, I can achieve it. Start shaping a plan. And still at this point there is no "action" per se -- but that is coming next. I think that wanting something, clarifying it, wanting it badly, is the fire that burns within you that helps you to make those actions to change, and then than want helps you to maintain it.
