Tammy, dont worry. The worst that can happen is insomnia or stiffness tomorrow. Neither hurts. I cannot recall anyone getting any other reaction except nausea and that is very rare and still, not dangerous.

I am on LDN for over 2 yrs now, like so many others , it is the best thing I ever did! Kiki

Tammy

I've been taking ldn since April,2004. Like Kiki said probably your worst side effect could be insomnia or stiffness.

I'm sure others will also assure you.

Good luck

I JUST GOTDONE READING ABOUT REVIA ON THIS SITE ON ONE OF THE

BOARDS....THAT IS WHERE MY COMPOUNDING PHARMACIST GOT MT NALTROXONE

FROM, BUT I SPECIFIED EXACT FILLERS I WANTED USED AND HE LISTENED TO

MY WISHES. THE COMPOUNDING PHARMACIST IS ONE FOR A VERY LARGE

CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AND HAS A VERY GOOD REPUTATION...I JUST HOPE I

MADE THE RIGHT DECISION TO USE HIM...GUESS I WON'T KNOW TIL I TRY.

AND FOR THE STIFFNESS, THAT IS ALL THE TIME AS I AM IN A W/C AT THE

AGE OF 35, SO I KNOW THE STIFFNESS ISN'T REALLY GOING TO MATTER

LOL. ALSO, I DON'T SLEEP MUCH, SO AS FAR AS THAT GOES, WHAT DO I

HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT EH? THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE,

TAMMY

The first week on LDN I was pain free and balance problems totally gone

along with other symptoms so you have nothing to worry about but maybe

some vivid dreams or insomia which should pass or if you have any

filler issues and that can be solved. I suggest you take at the same

time every night. I found 9pm my good time and it I take later than

9:30 or so I don't sleep well and sweat but at 9pm do OK.

Goodluck!!:)

For some people, the decision to do LDN was personally, rather than doctor initiated. If this is the case with you, you have set yourself apart from the majority of society, but many have done the same before. For me, I felt like a million bucks knowing I was in charge of my health. It didn't hurt that my hair started growing faster or at least thicker, my metabolism went up, and the drain on my pocketbook for Copaxone dried up and went away (with the migrating sore spots). After 2 months, I cannot say my symptoms have gone away or improved as my primary symptom was "innumerable lesions in both hemispheres" on the MRI and I will not get another until April, but I remain very motivated by the positive news from around the world and by being able to tell people about LDN, an inexpensive yet very promising option for people who are suffering.

Good luck. I hope your experience goes well.

TAMMY,

HAVE SOMEONE GO TO A LOCAL HEALTHFOOD STORE AND GET YOU A BOTTLE OF MELATONIN.

IF YOU HAVE SLEEP PROBLEMS START OUT TAKING 6MG OR 9MG OF MELATONIN 30 MINUTES

BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR LDN DOSE. IF YOU FIND 9MG IS NOT ENOUGH THEN UP TO 12MG

AND IF NOT ENOUGH UP TO 15MG 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR LDN DOSE. STAY ON MELATONIN

FOR ABOUT 14 DAYS AND THEN TRY TO SEE HOW YOU DO WITHOUT THE MELATONIN. IF

INSOMNIA IS STILL THERE THEN START BACK ON THE MELATONIN AS IT MAY BE WHAT YOUR

BODY NEEDS.

CAPS ARE NO PROBLEM HERE. I THINK MANY UNDERSTAND. BEFORE LDN I HAD TO USE ALL

CAPS TOO. I WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY TWO-THIRDS WHO WILL SEE SYMPTOM IMPROVEMENT ON

LDN TO GET A SLIGHT VISUAL IMPROVEMENT.

HI TAMMY,

I AM NEW TO LDN, STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO AND AM FEELING GOOD, I JUST

INCREASED MY DOSE TO 4.5 MG AND AM TOLERATING IT WITHOUT ANY SIDE

EFFECTS....WHEN I FIRST ASKED MY NEUROLOGIST FOR THE SCRIPT FOR LDN A FEW

MONTHS AGO HE SAID THAT HE DIDN'T MIND GIVING IT TO PEOPLE BECAUSE " IT WAS A

HARMLESS DRUG " .....OF COURSE HE ALSO SAID THAT HE WASN'T CONVINCED THAT IT

DID ANYTHING BUT AS YOU 'VE

READ FROM THE MANY POSTS ON THIS SITE - IT IS HELPING PEOPLE!!!!! LIKE

EVERYONE ELSE HAS SAID - THE FIRST WEEK I WOULD WAKE UP WIDE AWAKE AT ABOUT

3 AM, BUT AFTER THE FIRST WEEK I HAVE SLEPT FINE.....JUST THOUGHT I WOULD

GIVE YOU SOME INPUT FROM SOMEONE THAT JUST RECENTLY STARTED LDN:) GOOD LUCK

AND KEEP THINKING POSITIVE THOUGHTS:)

Yep, that's how I felt. Like I was taking a cyanide capsule... takes a while to get over that fear. There's a whole bunch of us here though.. so just give a shout when you need some reassurance :)

Day 861 for me now

[low dose naltrexone] I RECEIVED MY FIRST SCRIPT FOR LDN, AND I AM SCARED...

HELLO, PLEASE DON'T THINK I AM YELLING AT YOU FOR TYPING IN CAPS. I HAVE MS EYES AND LARGER PRINT JUST WORKS FOR ME, SO I HOPE YOU ALL UNDERSTAND. I AM NERVOUS ABOUT TAKING MY FIRST DOSE OF LDN TONITE. I WISH I KNEW WHY I WAS. I THINK IT IS BECAUSE IT IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT I AM GOING TO BE PUTTING IN MY BODY AND I AM NOT SURE HOW MY BODY IS GOING TO REACT. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY, AND I MEAN GREATLY APPRECIATED.THANK YOU ,TAMMY

Hi Tom,

What dosage are you taking? Most men seem to do best on 3.0 (when taking

the capsule). Some have tried starting smaller dosages to see if they can

keep from having some of the side effects. My husband did not have any side

effects, except that he had new areas of numbness and tingling which stopped

after he lowered his dosage to 3.0 from the original 4.5mg.

Most people seem to get rid of stiffness after about 2 weeks. I have heard

that stretching out in the mornings can be helpful.

Hi Aletha

Thanks for the reply.

I started on 3mg,liquid form.

Stretching is probably the best to do,and very helpful for most ms

people anyway.Too bad my physio is on holiday now...

What about applying cold?(ice packs, cold shower..)
