Guest guest
Both do roughly the same thing: they reinforce changes in relationship between beta left (higher) and right and between alpha right (higher) and left. Neither side is trained up or down. Pete Re: Alpha Beta symmetry quetion Pete- The A/B symmetry moves the beta--does the A/B balance protocol increase beta on the left? Guest guest
Pete, In the design note of Alpha Beta symmetry design the references are both Cz. Have you changed them to Linked A1 and A2? Jo Sato Alpha Beta symmetry quetion>>Hi Group -->>>I home training my 9 yr old son who has trouble staying focused and has >an ADHD inattentive diagnosis. Guest guest
Thanks, Pete: Is this Eyes O or C? Are feedbacks sound? I don't now know how to build in an upper limit to block feedback when exceeded. I'll thrash around and see what I can find. Guest guest
I usually do the symmetry eyes closed or eyes open, see which works best, then have the client try to carry the most successful state into the other one. I can't help you with Infiniti on the dual threshold; not sure how that is done. I believe Francois has been working on a version of this protocol.Pete Alpha Beta symmetry quetion>>Hi Group -->trainer.com 305/321-1595 pvdadpmindspring Van Deusen 16246 SW 92nd Ave, Miami, FL 33157 http://www.brain-trainer.com 305/321-1595 pvdadp@... Guest guest
Jo, Yes. This grew out of a discussion a couple months ago on the group. some clients tend to get a little obsessive when he training goes over the cingulate as it does when Cz reference is used. Guest guest
Pete: I believe I have figured out how to replicate symmetry the screen for Infinity. Now, (everybody knows this but me) what client complaint and/or TLC assessment information would prompt you to use this protocal? What results would I look for? Jim Alpha Beta symmetry quetion>>Hi Group --> Van Deusen 16246 SW 92nd Ave, Miami, FL 33157 http://www.brain-trainer.com 305/321-1595 pvdadpmindspring
Guest guest
Jim, Frontal imbalance of alpha and/or beta. If alpha is higher or about the same on the left (F3) and the right (F4), then dysthymia or helpless/hopeless depression may be an issue for the client--or at least a predisposition to move in that direction. If beta is higher or about the same on the right as on the left, then agitated depression, irritability, anxiety, perhaps temper control issues will appear. If you find a frontal reversal, the next question is whether the problem is excessive alpha or beta on the high side or low levels on the low side. If the levels are relatively in the desired range (betas around 14%, alpha theta ratios EC around 1.0), then the alpha beta symmetry protocol can be very helpful. If, on the other hand, there are, for example, high beta levels across the front, and higher on the right, probably better to train it down there. The symmetry protocol in that case would be like re-arranging furniture in a burning house. Guest guest
, Yes, it would be very nice to include this information, though it already takes longer for me to write the design notes than it does to do the design in most cases. Some of the newer designs do have design notes with an effort to explain them a bit more, though I have focused primarily on what the design is set to train and what the feedback environment is--as well as some simple client and trainer instructions. Trying to get into placements and potential responses to training is probably beyond what I will try to do.Pete RE: Alpha Beta symmetry quetion Pete- this kind of info would be great to include in the notes section of the design--would you be willing to include this type of info in your designs?
