Hi All

My name is and I am the list owner of ms-diet , a support group for those following the Best-Bet Diet.

I am also taking 4.5mg LDN (for approx 2 yrs) in capsule/powder form, and have to say, I've seen no effect, and have continued a steady decline (I have PPMS diagnosed 7 yrs, and now use a wheelchair pretty much full time).

I heard recently from one of our members, that many people seemed to be noticing the beneficial effects after switching to a liquid form of LDN.

My question is - has anyone with PPMS noticed an improvement after taking the liquid form?

Regards

,

I am sure it would be worth giving it a shot. I have noticed that it seems more potent, so you may wish to take it at a smaller dosage at first. I think you can just poor your capsule into liquid.

Open the capsule and put in any liquid and take the liquid method. Put

some more liquid in the container and drink to get the residue off

glass. Some people do not have enough hydrochloric acid in the stomach

to dissolve capsules and that may be your problem. You may not have

got any LDN for the two years taking the capsules.

Rhonda

yes, you're right :) LOL....it was a little early, the brain wasn't quite

awake:)

good luck gettting back to where you were before the generic...

just got back from my neuro appt.....its been two months on LDN, BBD, and

recently avoiding ELISA food allergies, and he said that he couldn't believe

how i've recovered and have gotten my strength back! of course he still

doesn't believe in LDN or diet but he gave me a script for 3mg and 1.5 mg

seperately so i could try and increase to 4.5 if i wanted! so at least he's

opened minded enough to keep writing those scripts:)

take care

[low dose naltrexone] Re: LDN in liquid form

Lynn, I think you are thinking about me, Rhonda, that when I tried the

liquid LDN I had instant energy and everything got better which I

recently screwed up by trying the generic. did have her MS stop

progression but I think she is taking compounded LDN. I also tried the

compounded but only one dose and I could tell not the same the next day

but I never tried opening both the 3mgs and 1.5mgs capsules and making

liquid. I wanted to go back to Bristol Myers Revia that was working

and cheaper for me too. Now if I can just get back to where I was.

I've been back on Bristol Myers Revia for 6 doses and got better but I

feel some throb/burning today in my shins so I'm hoping it will soon go

away and stay away. But we are having storms and the barometer may have

something to do with it since it affects me so bad. When I started

Dec. 17, 04 I did the crushed method until June and the pain was gone

within a week so I'm wondering why it isn't going totally away fast

now. I think in the 3 weeks on generic that my lesion may have become

active again and that is why I felt symptoms. I'm mad about that

generic and know it could just react that way with me and maybe not

everyone since Bruce on the group has only taken the generic and says

it works for his cancer. Bruce, is your generic made by Barr Labs too?

I think anyone that hasn't got results from LDN should try the liquid

method. After starting the liquid LDN I felt so normal and got

motivation b/c I had energy again and could think clearly.

Rhonda

> yes! a woman named on the low dose naltrexone is

also PPMS for many years- i think 15 and the LDN has stopped her

progression right in its tracks! she was steadily declining before the

liquid LDN......i am going to send you her story and contact

info....very nice woman and very informative.....good luck

Rhonda,

Instead of opening the capsule I just dropped it into water and it

dissolved in about 3 minutes. It was not easy for me to get the

capsule open.

When I tried the compounded capsules one time, I had 3mgs and 1.5mgs

and got the 3mgs pulled apart but gave up on the 1.5mgs so think

that is why it didn't work as well b/c I only got 3mgs and had been

taking 4.5mgs liquid Revia. I didn't think about using scissors to

cut the capsule open. That would be simple and have whatever you

are dropping the capsule powder in right under where you cut. My

dad is taking my compounded now and he said they open fine. Could

be humidity too making them stick. Try scissors. OK if the capsule

dissolved that quick. If so in water, seems it would in our

stomachs. I'd snip the capsule and ditch the capsule just to make

sure it doesn't interfere with the LDN absorbing. That way you

don't have to wonder.

Someone here posted some comments about capsules not being as good

for taking meds and vitamins etc.
