Guest guest
Today, I sincerely compliment others as much as possible.I can remember the time when someone would compliment me and I would respond with, “Oh thanks, but….. †I would catch myself trying to outweigh the gift of flattery that was just given to me by saying something negative about myself or by turning around and saying something nicer right back to them. It was hard for me to receive a sincere gesture of flattery. I had to force myself to receive those kind words by learning to just say, “Thank you.†Leaving out the “Yeah, buts…†was difficult in the beginning, but with practice you eventually start to believe the kind words. Give the gift of a compliment to others. It then becomes easier to accept that same gift when it is given to you.The ability to get our minds off ourselves can be very spiritual.__________________________________________________
