Yes, it is very interesting. I wonder if the Dupont and Bristol Myers Squibb pills are what was left from their last batches, or do they have a manufacturing plant outside of the US . I read that the shelf life of Revia was 3 years. Arlene
Guest guest
Here is a photo of the Revia pill currently manufactured by Barr Labs: http://www.barrproductguide.com/php/index.php3?view=140 It's from the Barr website, copyright 2005. It shows both sides of a round pill. The pill says " ReVia " on one side, and on the other, it's scored, with " b " above the score line and " 275 " below the score line. This is the pill currently manufactured by Barr. Is this what your pill looks like? Barr is the only company who currently manufactures ReVia. They own the name. No other company currently manufactures it under that name. ReVia was originally manufactured by Dupont Pharmaceuticals, but in 2001, Bristol Myers Squibb acquired DuPont Pharmaceuticals. Dupont at that point got out of the pharmaceutical industry. In April 2002, Bristol Myers Squibb sold the ReVia brand-name rights to Barr Laboratories, who were already manufacturing a generic. Your questions are very interesting. While searching for a current illustration of the pill manufactured by Barr, I came across an internet site that sells Revia... but the illustration is of an oblong pill with the word " Dupont " printed on it: http://www.rxclinic.com/catwellness.aspx (Scroll down to find ReVia...) Is this what your Revia looks like? Is this what you get from MexMeds? I wonder if you are getting Revia that was manufactured before Dupont sold their pharmaceutical business to BMS... and then to Barr.... I also found an Asian site that sells ReVia... and the box says " Bristol Myers Squibb " on the side. Is this what your box looks like? http://www.edrugnet.jp/buy-revia.htm This is all really interesting. -- Maureen
