Guest guest
Right, the Lederle generic is made by the same company that makes Minocin and i think its what most take instead of name brand. Its about half the cost of minocin. Ask your pharmacist specifically for the lederle generic. rheumatic generic > Some of the generics work also, as I heard from many on this list the > Lederle and Schein brand generics are good. Its about half the > cost of minocin. Ask your pharmacist specifically for the lederle generic. I had to ask for the " ESI " generic before they found the right one (thanks Ethel!) I believe Lederle merged with some other drug company, and it seems their generic product is no longer marketed under that name (at least that's what my pharmacist tells me.....) Also, I find the generic about 1/4 to 1/3 of the price of the non-generic. a pretty major difference! j. --------------------------------------------- ph A. Guest guest
Hi all....I have a few questions that I hope somebody can answer for me..I've had RA for about 6 years and took only gold ,(oral) and tylenol. The last month I've taken only tylenol prior to starting AP and I've had little pain. When I start the minocin, can I still take the tylenol? The most important question is since I have to pay for my own meds,is generic minocin okay to use or must I use the expensive brand? Lastly I take alot of vitamins daily and would like to know if its okay to continue, MSM also, which seems to help me quite alot. I appreciate your help. Benjie1238@... Guest guest
Hi Benjie, I haven't heard of any problems with taking Tylenol with the antibiotics. As far as the generics are concerned, some generics work and some don't, due to different methods of preparation, fillers etc. The Lederle generic is a fraction of the cost of Minocin and definitely works for this therapy as it's bioequivalent to Minocin. Hope this helps. Chris. >Hi all....I have a few questions that I hope somebody can answer for me..I've >had RA for about 6 years and took only gold ,(oral) and tylenol. Guest guest
I just talked to mt New Ap doc this week about the Generic vs. the Nongeneric Minocin. He advised absolutely the Non Generic. I have just started in the last three weeks so I do not have first hand experience but I have waited to start this Ap for awhile and dont want to waste any more time with a Generic that is not as effective. Just my feeling. Patti
Guest guest
Hi: I have been concerned about the generic as well. However, the company that I have is Scheen (I believe that is how it is spelled. It is the tiny yellow capsules 50 mg a capsule. Does anyone use this company. The pharmacist said it was OK. But who knows? I think when I finish this bottle I will specifically ask for the brand name? Just a comment to add to Patti's. What do yo think? Guest guest
I think I have figured out that I started the generic naltrexone on July 16 - Aug 9 so was on it 25 days and all I can figure is I had 31 pills since I have 27 now and gave one away. I knew after second batch that something wasn't the same and that is why I mixed my Revia but that got dropped all on floor so mixed another generic. Maybe it was meant to be for me to drop the batch of Revia so I would figure out the Generic isn't working!!!!! For sure figured that out this week! I feel like I may have not been getting much at all from the 25 days. That is scary. I wouldn't suggest anyone risking takig the generic. And I started liquid LDN sometime in early June with Great results just to go backwards the next month. I hope I can get back to where I was once on the Revia from here on out. If anyone wants this generic crap, you can have it Free. Rhonda
Guest guest
Thanks for info, How do you obtain liquid LDN. I had MS for a while before a doctor spoke those w#%*? in 2001. I am uneasy about typical treatments for MS. I just go for Checkups, etc. Thanks for letting vent. Guest guest
Some here get LDN from Irmats in NY and they make a liquid but very costly and shipping is HIGH b/c they have to keep Cold. I suggest you get Revia 50mgs from either a doc or order from Mexico. www.medsmex.com and 28 pills there is $99.95. Shipping to North Carolina for me was $12. I got my first Revia there and now thru doc after the generic crap. The homemade instructions are on www.goodshape.net scroll to bottom and you will see homemade LDN to click on. You have to keep the liquid LDN in the Fridge. I take my LDN liquid at 9pm and found that best for me and to take same time nightly or otherwise I toss and turn and sweat if take later than 10 or not at same time. I never did any other treatments and docs don't call mine MS b/c I only have One Brain Lesion but all the symptoms are the same. I call it SSLOL. Glad I only have ONE but symptoms from one was kicking my butt bad last two years. Just print the www.low dose naltrexone.org info and take to doc and there also is another link for patients to print for their doc. Leaving work now and maybe Larry will post that link for you.
