Hi all, forgive me if Melatonin was a recent topic here; sometimes I don't get to read all the digests. I'm Pam in NJ, 29 yrs old, on LDN since March for MS and doing well. I recently started 4.0 mgs. Didn't even notice any change I don't think from 3.5. I get my stuff from Medicine Shoppe Canandaigua NY.

Lately I'm becoming more aware of fatigue during the day. 8, 9, 10, 12 hours of sleep doesn't matter. Naps, though I crave them, don't help much. I feel more lethargic after a nap (unless interrupted, I'll sleep 2-3 hours)!

One of the veterinarians I work with mentioned Melatonin as a means of getting more restful sleep. I'm almost positive it's been discussed here, and elsewhere on our related sites? Can someone email me links, documents, arguments for or against this supplement? Feel free to email to ghostkat@... if you don't wish to clog the group pipeline.

I *have* been bad lately, i.e., not taking vitamins religiously. I know it's probably useless to say, but on a day-to-day basis, the vitamins don't seem to affect the fatigue. Then again, I should know better: I recall vitamins need to be taken for -awhile- before I'd notice a change I'm sure. I'd better restart the regime.

I'm more curious about the Melatonin than anything else. Not looking forward to popping more stuff, but thought I'd ask.

Battle on,

Pam

Hi Pam,

One idea mentioned by a chatter for more energy is "taking a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a warm cup of water. I advise drinking it in the morning or afternoon, because it will keep you awake, thus giving you more energy".

Another is taking your LDN capcal and pouring it into a liquid and drinking it.

Another is to take DL-Phenylalanine. My husband takes this twice a day on an empty stomach. 500mg per pill. This is suggested by Dr. Bihari for overall well being and less depression. Apparently it will extend the work that LDN does, more so through the whole day. I think it also gives him more energy.
