Dear in Oregon,

I really don't know much about cortef nor where you could read about it.

I know that my son was on prednisone for over a year, and as we got him

weaned down, our doctor who is very much into alternative treatments, etc.,

put him on cortef and the pharmacist said, " No one uses that anymore. " It

only lasts in the body a short time, so you have to take it throughout the

day. Austin currently takes 20-25 mg./day, 10 am, 5 or 10 noon, 5 pm. This

is less than a physiologic dose, according to our doctor, and it is a

natural cortisone. It is not supposed to have the side effects of the

prednisone.
