Guest guest
--- 2005 EIBI Survey RE: 2005 EIBI Survey- This is becoming an annual survey of home behavioral programs. I would appreciate it if you could share this information with behavior analysts or families doing home programs that you may know. For families, please consider completing the survey. If you have any other contacts that could help share this I would be grateful if you can do so. This survey in now done only as an online version. Thanks Jack Survey at http://www.coe.fau.edu/card/EIBI2005.asp May 1, 2005 Dear Parents of Children with Autism and Behavioral Professionals, We are trying to obtain replies to a survey on home-based, early, intensive behavioral intervention (EIBI) for children with autism and closely related conditions. This survey is part of a continuing effort to obtain and share information on parent home programming. We hope that you could help. Some of you may have used information I wrote about recruiting teaching assistants in one chapter of Maurice¹s 1996 book, Behavioral Intervention for Young Children with Autism: A Manual for parents and Professionals. This survey is part of a series of surveys that first examined the role played by teaching assistants. It has evolved to become more comprehensive. If you are a parent now conducting EIBI, then we hope you would go to the internet site for this survey and complete the survey. The on-line survey takes about 30 minutes to complete. You will find the survey at: http://www.coe.fau.edu/card/EIBI2005.asp If you are an early intervention provider or behavior analyst or autism specialist and work with families who home EIBI programs we would hope that you could share this information with the families. Unlike past years, this survey is now only available in an on-line version. Sharing the information is as simple as sharing the web address. While we anticipate most responses will come form the USA, we welcome replies from any country. For replies from outside the USA, please be sure to enter monetary values in your own currency and to indicate your country. The purpose of the survey is to gain an understanding of the nature and scope of EIBI home programs. We have conducted previous studies and reported them at the Association for Behavior Analysis Annual Convention in 2004, 2003 and at other forums. We would be happy to send an electronic copy of our findings from this 2005 Survey when it is completed (end of summer 2005). To receive a copy, simply provide an email address once you have completed the survey. The email addresses go to a separate data system and, to help maintain confidentiality, they are not linked to the survey responses. You do not need to complete the survey to request a copy of the findings. We are also conducting follow-up telephone interviews with parents from different geographic regions and with different profiles. If you are interested in being considered for participation in these follow up interviews please provide your name and contact information. The opportunity to enter this information appears right after you hit the submit button for entering the survey. Again this information is kept separate from the survey data. If you have comments or questions on the survey we welcome them at jscott@... <mailto:jscott@...> or by phone at 561 297 3239. Thanks for your help with this survey effort and for helping to bring the benefits of early intensive behavioral intervention to children with autism. Sincerely, Jack , PhD, BCBA Associate Professor
