<< I have been having for several years extreme all over sweating,it

seems any additional heat source, such as blow drying hair, too warm

shower temp, too warm clothing, etc. will precipitate extreme

sweating, often have to change clothing. It is NOT hot flashes, which I

find condescending when told this.It does not last all day and it

seems odd that I can actually cause this to occur by some of the

above mentioned causes. It seems my body thermostat is out of whack to

temperature changes. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it related

to RSD?>>

Larraine,

Sorry it took me so long to write back...trying to catch up on emails. I do

not have RSD but I do have exactly what you are talking about with the

sweating. It drives me crazy and I also get extremely cold if exposed to

cold for too long and can't seem to get warm.

I asked my Dr. about it and my exact words were " it seems that I can't

control my internal thermostat " ! He said it could be my medications or the

pain itself or both. He didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about

but then again he's not the one going through it either! I just try and

deal with it the best I can and that is about all I can tell you.

Let me know if you find anything out about it.

Take care,

Ann

Dear Larraine and Ann,

I read of your trouble with sweating and I thought you might like to know about

a medicine that my doctor put me on for my excessive sweating. It's called

propantheline " pronounced pro pan tha lean " . It has almost completely solved my

sweating problem and I would say run don't walk to your doctor if your sweating

was anything like mine. It's a tiny little pill taken 3 times a day. Hope this

helps
