Applied Behavior Analysis for Special Education:

A 15-Credit Certificate Program

August 2005 through August 2006

*****************************************

This 15-credit certificate program consists of four graduate-level courses

that students can complete in one academic year. The four-course sequence in

applied behavior analysis is designed to prepare participants for the national

certification examination sponsored by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board,

Inc.® (BACB®). Penn State's Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate program is

offered in an independent, continuing education format. The first three

courses are offered via videotaped or DVD lecture, customized course materials,

and

supplemental online activities. These three courses are designed so that

students can complete the course work from their homes or offices, making the

program convenient and accessible to working professionals. Communication and

interaction with the instructors is maintained through e-mail, telephone, and

Internet Web boards.

For the final course of the series, the participants travel to Penn State to

attend the National Autism Conference. This fourth course is a " live " course

held during the five-day conference.
