Professional Development Certificate in Autism

A 12-credit certificate program

Penn State's Professional Development Certificate in Autism is a 12-

credit certificate program that consists of five courses that you

can complete in one year. It is offered in an independent,

continuing education format. All five courses are offered via

videotape, or DVD, and customized course materials. The courses are

designed so that you can complete the work from your home or office

making the program convenient and accessible for you as a working

professional. Communication and interaction with instructors is

maintained through e-mail and Web-based message boards.

By completing this program you will earn 12 graduate-level credits

from Penn State that may be applied to a graduate degree program,

pending approval from the degree-granting institution. All program

graduates will receive a program completion certificate from Penn

State's College of Education. Additionally, Pennsylvania teachers

will earn Act 48 hours and a credential certificate from the PDE-

BSE. Please note that this program does not result in teaching

certification of professional licensure of any kind.
