Guest guest
<< Don't beat yourself up for " only " doing the basic! Those basic tapes are a great workout!! >> Thanks for the encouragement . I know the basic tapes are a great workout - I guess I just needed to hear someone else say it! LOL! I would like to add an advanced workout at least once or twice a week, but I don't know if I can get through the whole workout. In my head, I believe that I will see faster results if I do the advanced, but in reality, that may not be true. At any rate, I appreciate your words of encouragement. I'm just going to do what I can and try not to compare myself to others.
Guest guest
<<You form will come and, as you just noticed, you will get stronger and have more endurance. Then you can safely and efficiently move to the advanced tapes >> You are so right Elena. I *do* need to improve my form before moving on. I never really thought about it that way before. I knew I needed work on my kicks, but never really thought about holding off on the advanced tapes until my kicks are better. Also, I think it would be better for me if I try to do 2 basics back to back. I can build my stamina and improve my form. Then when I decided to try an advanced, I should be more prepared. Thanks for your advice :-)

Most importantly just remember you are doing most excellent 16 inches is a LOT. >> Thanks . I have a hard time doing roundhouse and side kicks, but I am improving. As for the inches lost, I don't feel 16 inches smaller because it's been a slow process. Others are seeing my progress so why can't I?? My boss asked me the other day if I'm still doing Tae Bo. When I said that I am, he said " well keep it up because it's working " . My sister told me that I look great in my swim suit and that my stomach looks " almost flat " . LOL! I love hearing things like that, but I'm still too hard on myself. I need to lighten up and just do the workouts that I can, and know that it's doing my body good! Thanks for your encouraging words. :-)

It's working!!!! :-) > > > , you answered your own question -- the basic tapes are good for you. That's all that matters. When I started taebo, I did the instructional for about a month, and then the studio basic for the next month. Only after that, did I advance to the studio advanced, and then later to the live tapes. You are doing the smart thing, waiting for you form to improve before moving on to advanced tapes. You are following 's advice in the tapes and in his book. You form will come and, as you just noticed, you will get stronger and have more endurance. Then you can safely and efficiently move to the advanced tapes. Listening to everyone's advice, I have started to do more basic tapes (especially BL2, BL7, and the basic because I love those tapes). I find that I push myself harder on those tapes and therefore get as good if not a better workout than on too many advanced tapes in a row. Obviously, the basics are working for you. Keep it up! Still, when I'm doing the workout, it's difficult for me to go at my own pace rather than trying to keep up with . I get frustrated if I can't do the kicks as fast. I shouldn't do that, but I just can't seem to help myself. I will keep at it though and when my form has improved, and I have more endurance, I'll try an advanced. In the meantime, I'm going to stop beating myself up. Thanks for your encouragement!

I don't know if I've built stamina and endurance, or if that tape is just a tad bit easier than some of the other basics. Today was the first time I've done the basic. Which basic tapes do you do most often, and which is your favorite? In light of this week's challenge (which I forgot about until just a few minutes ago) I'm going to stop thinking I'm a wimp for only doing the basics. Four months ago I wasn't doing any kind of exercise. Now that I'm doing Tae Bo 4-5 times a week, I'm doing great and I feel good about myself for sticking with it! Guest guest
you are doing great! Please do not compare yourselves to what others are doing, remember it's better to do moves with correct form than say " well I did this tape " or whatever (not that anyone on here does that but I am just stating a point). I would just do what you are doing, try adding on two Basics or doing floorwork from the original advanced (I think it's the toughest to date) and go from there. Roundhouse kicks for me were the HARDEST thing to learn and I bet it took me nearly seven months to do it. Most importantly just remember you are doing most excellent 16 inches is a LOT. Guest guest
Hi , I think it's more important, any anybody else here correct me if I'm wrong, to have correct form than to go as fast as you can. Guest guest
<< The basic is one of the hardest in my opinion >> said the same thing. I feel much better now knowing that it is considered one of the more difficult basic tapes. The move you're talking about - balancing on one foot and pulling in the knee of the other leg - was challenging, but when I was finished with the workout, I didn't feel completely wiped out like I usually do after a workout. Maybe my stamina and endurance are improving. I hope!

Good to know that I am not the only one doing the it.Still To be honest . I am going through it like a breeze . It has become easy to do. Having said that the advance is really hard . I really need a longer workout than 27mins. I know the advance one is more challenging and a longer time. Which is ideal for me . I just wish I could give off my behind and do it ..!!!. Guest guest
, I've only got the studio basic and that's it! I'm going to order some new tapes off the Tae Bo website this weekend. I'm not really bored exactly, I just figured it would be a good idea NOT to wait till I was.*LOL* I think told me that BL4 has a floorwork segment in it so I was interested in trying to get that one if possible. I saved her message so I'll double check. I feel that when I'm ready to do the advanced the money I've invested in the basic tapes won't go to waste because I think I will still use these workouts. They aren't " no impact " workouts and there will be days when I won't have an hour or I may just not feel like an advanced session and the basics are good workouts that I'll still be using over the years to come!
