Guest guest
Hi Jane: I find that when I have to change my routine; i have the same problem. Symptoms appear out of no where. Dizziness, vision problems are worse, fatigue worse, Our bodies cannot adjust as a normal person can, it takes us days to adjust to any change, you are leaving the house several hours earlier then usual; even earlier when you go to the later mass. Definitely, do not do the kneeling standing, etc ; listen to your body and do what your body tells you. I have had to give up church for similar reasons; however, i know i will get back. Getting up and moving earlier then usual was just too much and i would get thru Sunday School and then couldn't handle the church service, So , i do relate and I wish you the best, You will be in my prayers:=) Debby In Ohio > > Hi Everyone, > > Ok, here's the deal. I go (or attempt to go) to Mass every Sunday. I am Catholic so there is a lot of standing, sitting, kneeling and such. NORMALLY, every morning I ease slowly into my day. I usually wake up around 6:30 or 7am and If it's a 'pretty good' day, I may be dressed, hair and make-up done by 10:30 or 11am, taking plenty of time as you can see. > > On Sundays, my hubby and I go to 7:30am Mass, which of course, requires me to have all this done at a much earlier time. I pretty much sit thru-out the Mass anymore, but can still hardly make it up for Communion and back. I walk like a drunk, bouncing off the walls and getting plenty of looks - LOL! > > > My question is: Does anyone else have the problem of Vertigo, leg weakness & tremors mainly, once they get to church? These are some of my 'normal CFS/ME/FM' symptoms, but they are hitting me at Mass HARD every Sunday now. I'm wondering is it becuz I'm getting up and moving around so much, so early in the morning? Even if we go to 9am Mass, I'm having the same problems.........What is going on? > > Thanks everyone for listening, > > STL Jane >
Guest guest
I became allergic to frankincense and Myrrh. My symptoms are dizziness and asthma attack. I am usually fine until the incense comes out. The church can come to you. Ask your priest about home services. Any questions ask, I'm not shy. Take care of you, you're important to me. Guest guest
I too had to give up church. Even harder for me as I was the ministers secretary and had to give up my job! Our church records the service and issues it on a disc for people like me. It's a great second choice Regards Helen ----- Original Message ----- From: LookingUp Hi Jane: I find that when I have to change my routine; i have the same problem. Symptoms appear out of no where. Guest guest
Remember you don't *have* to kneel and stand or even sing if you are not well enough. I am unable to sit up in a wheelchair longer than a couple of minutes and so the rare time I am well enough my friend takes my portable sunlounger and sets it up in church, comes back whizzes me frm lying in the back of the car to the sunlounger and I lie down during the service. :-) Usually the vicar brings me communion at home. Guest guest
For me, the hardest part of going to church or even my office is all the perfumes and colognes. I will get a migraine within minutes of walking into a cloud of strong perfume, and it takes hours to get rid of the pain afterwards. Guest guest
Isn't there some way they can bring communion to you?? I dont have the problem as I use a wheelchair (unrelated to FMS due to something else) so I have to sit as I cant stand and cant kneel plus I am Lutheran so we dont really do that as much although people can choose to if they wish. AS for communion I do go up but I am in a wheelchair when I was using the walking frame they brought it to me even in a church we had never been to and interstate they OFFERED to do this so surely they could do this for you? As for the incense I am actually allergic as in I have full aniphylaxis response to it and cannot breathe whatso ever my church doesn't use it except once they were demonstrating something in the childrens address first wiff and I was out the church pretty fast the person running it apologised and never used it again he was a vicar a training pastor and no one was consulted and the actual pastor was knew and did not know about my severe allergic reaction its even on my medic alert bracelet so that one I totally sympathise I discovered this reaction by accident when I was in choir we used to sing with a uniting church choir even though I am lutheran and jeff is Anglican and anyway they were doing a ecumenical thing with the catholic church and joked about incense and then on the day I was standing (this was before needed the wheelchair) right on the end and the guy came past with the incense and i dropped to the ground inf ront of the TV cameras it was a Easter service outside!!!! So I feel your problem Personally as for the mornings cant function in the mornign whatsoever I dont usually get up to 10am or later AND I was wondering if you used medications that made you sleepy the night before??? because I find I have a hang over from them quite a common thing with these meds so if you do and you break the routine of having a chance to wake up AND also you are still sleepy from the meds perhaps the fatigue added with the incense doesn't make a good mix. Is there a night time service?? Or could the pastor bring the communion WITHOUT the incense to your house for you once a week???
Guest guest
I suffer from dizziness and vertigo. My neurologist said to find the positions that don't trigger it. So I don't kneel at church and I make sure to be well hydrated. I also take b12 shots and other supplements. I even do daily eye exercises that help with the dizziness. Good luck sweetie Zoe > > Hi Jane. > it might be because you got less then your normal amount of sleep, i do well when i get 6 hrs and can handle 5 but then i notice that my symtems do get worse though. i find now that if i start my day off early its easyer to get to sleep and i feel better about myself too. > take care all > Rich in north miami >
Guest guest
WOW! Thanks everyone for your responses and suggestions. I knew I could count on you guys to help me out - one of the reasons I love this group!!! I think I may start going to 5pm on Saturday, alone. My hubby doesn't want to go at this time at all, due to his work schedule, but I don't want to miss Mass / become symptomatic EVERY Sunday either. So I will try this and see how it goes. I'll let ya know! Thanks again everyone. It's nice to know we are not in this alone. STL Jane > > Isn't there some way they can bring communion to you??
