They are all hand in glove with ministers. My sister has a bad experience and the fellows were caught and now nothing in being done. The fellows are moving around scott free The involved investigating police want their peice of cake. They want advance money to take action and get recovery. This also will be gone. My piece of advise to all concerned is that do not pay any money upfront. If at all a donation seat has to be taken pay after getting the job done, else you will loose your money. Be cautious Regards Raju shah 1978 ________________________________ To: mgims Sent: Sat, 5 February, 2011 12:10:57 AM Subject: Re: How Seats Are Sold...The great Indian Medical Seats Scam coming up Yes, Balwinder. Sad but completely true. I have just been through the admission process and have been contacted by these touts. Maybe some are just con artists, but some are genuine scamsters. I'll tell you one more scam. (True story) My son, Yash, had thoroughly prepared for his PG entrance exams. Still, as realistic parents, we were never sure about his admission. Hence, he had applied for and appeared for the entire range of PG entrance tests. As luck would have it, he was short-listed in the merit of Maharashtra State, Centre and Karnataka State lists. But even before we knew about his result, we received phone calls from different agents with lucrative offers. (How these gentlemen got our phone numbers and results beforehand is a matter of conjecture.) The deal was simple. Yash could choose whichever seat he wanted. However, he had to pick seats in the other two entrances as per instructions from these touts. He would be paid upfront Rs. 20 lakhs per seat. Then he had to retain the seats until the second selection round. After that, he could just forsake the seat and pocket the money. It seems that after the second round, the vacant seats are given to the college administration for private allotment. Thus, the seats vacated after the second round are available to them for illegal sale. I was very curious. I enquired how could he take double (or in this case) triple admissions if he had to submit his original certificates to each. The agents told us not to worry, and everything would be managed. And all this, mind you, even before the result was announced on the web site. In fact we learned his results first from these touts and then officially. The rates going in Pune for PG seats were ranging from 20 lakhs for Pathology to 60 lakhs for Surgery to 80 lakhs for Gynaec to a crore plus for Radiology and Orthopaedics. These rates were for MD and MS seats. (MCI recognized) The rates for DNB are considerably less (5 to 10 lakhs), and in fact some places do offer seats on merit. Kishore Shah 1974 PS: Yes! We did make a notional loss of 40 lakhs by refusing the offer. But then we balanced it by making a potential profit of much more. -------------------------------------------------- Sent: Friday, February 04, 2011 12:05 PM To: <mgims > Subject: How Seats Are Sold...The great Indian Medical Seats Scam coming up
