Guest guest
On Friday afternoon I had my thyroid taken out. The worse part of it was the waking up. Then the darn machine beeping saying that my pulse (oxygen) was dropping, which cased my nurse to run in and my daughter who is a RN telling me to breath. Easy for them to say. I just wanted to sleep. The doctor said that it went really well. They got all of it. My voice is still not back, so that is freaking me out. When I am laying down I am coughing. Other than these two things, I haven't taken a pain pill except for Friday and Saturday. I really try not to take anything unless I really have too. The doctor gave me his personal cell phone number, so that I could call him if I needed him. I was really surprised of him doing that. I will go see him on Thursday afternoon. He was surprised that my voice wasn't better than it was. He told my husband that maybe it was bruised. If it wasn't better by Thursday, then he would do something to look at it. I train dogs, and I need my voice!! Suppose to have a client on Sunday. I am not on synthyroid since Friday. He has me taking 2 Caltrex (calcium) 3x a day. Also he had me take Tums if I felt any tingling in my fingers or lips. I just had to do that on Sat. and Sun. Not knowing what to expect is hard on me. Like I didn't have time to fully research. Everything happened in the month that I found out that I had the thyroid cancer. I want to ask him when I can start back on my GNC vitamins for Women 50 and older. I will have to talk to another doctor about the radiation. Is he the one that will get me feeling good again? I really didn't feel tired before I was put on the synthyroid. So I didn't have any symptoms really, at least not bad ones. I was on the synthyoid for 6 weeks and one day. I didn't feel any different than normal. I felt more tired after they had me not take my vitamins. I did feel that difference. ville, TX
Guest guest
, I’m glad that surgery is behind you. I hope you continue to recover well. Especially that your voice returns quickly. Hugs, Kim in No Texas
