Guest guest
We were handed a copy of a few chapters from: Behavioral Intervention for Young Children With Autism: A Manual for Parents and Professionals by Maurice (Editor), Green (Editor), C. Luce (Editor) by a sympathetic school employee. standard services for under 3 y.o here are 1 hour each of SLP and play. We got 15 hours ABA/VB w/o mediation, due process or anything. (before everyone tells me that isn't enough, we suplement to 20+ hours) pete > Please excuse the crosspost, but I am trying to gather a reference list to give to parents of newly diagnosed children... > > Hi all, > I live in a state where early intervention rarely mentions ABA or EIBI if they can avoid it. So there is a fair proportion of young ASD kids who are receiving 6-10 hours/week of generic special ed with a little speech thrown in, or a more " intensive " program of the above with 5 hours per week of 1:1 DTT. > > 2 questions--- > > 1. How did you find out about ABA/EIBI therapy as an option/choice for your child? > > 2. If you wanted to give a newly diagnosed family something to read to let them know the effectiveness of ABA for their child, what would that be? > > For me it was " Let Me Hear Your Voice " , but there may be newer or more persuasive writings and articles out there... > > TIA--- > Regina F. > > > " The idea is to try to give all the information > to help others to judge the value of your contribution; > not just the information that leads to judgment > in one particular direction or another " > Feynman > ABA rules.
