Guest guest
E {:-}Greetings: As one of the moderators who spends a lot of time clearing messages I want to try and explain my point of view. When you reply to a message we don't want to see the whole message copied over. Please :-) . What we want is to see pertinent portions of previous messages. So if someone asks a question you could reply using the following example. [snip] How do I ask about getting help for whatever?[snip] Your answer would be typed below the above line. Now some might say well I don't want to insert [snip] everytime nor do I want to cut and paste. Have you ever considered how difficult it is for us sometimes to decide which is new material? I have turned to the internet and for help I've downloaded a free software program call TypeItIn to help me. This program has 50 buttons that you can designate/assign to fill in repetitive tasks. It is also free. Be Blessed E. Darwent Moderator, Chronic Pain
Guest guest
> > > When you reply to a message we don't want to see the whole message copied over. > > With respect, I see that point very clearly. I hope you can take on board what we say as well. And seeing as they don't conflict with what you are saying, then there shouldn't be any problems. You're right in saying that, quote: " we don't want to see the whole message copied over. " But this might just be the grey area. quote: " What we want is to see pertinent portions of previous messages. " What I think is pertinent , and " I " do because that's why i've left it in, has at times been deemed not so. For e.g. Once you said after me trying 2 times and an eventual third to post my complete post, " .....I couldn't figure out what was going on. There wasn't an explanation given so some of it got cut because it looked like, well I had no idea what you were trying to do. " How do you think I felt when I read that? It was part of my post. I thought about it, I thought about what I wanted to say, and why, and to whom. And a good portion was deleted from my post. With absolutly no reason that married up to the reasons in the official guidlines/rules. The 'guidlines' or rules, do not say, " All posts must come with an explanation " , (it made perfect sense to me and it still does) and, " We must have an idea as to what you are trying to do, or else we'll edit it out " . I might have a different way of expressing myself, I even spell differently, but i don't believe my thoughts are that alien as to be deemed incomprehendable. My point is that if you ask us all to stick to the guidlines and we do, then please adhear to them as well, and don't leave them open to interpretations. You know it also makes me feel like I have to reach this bench mark that always changes, when I am way beyond chasing bench marks anyway, and way beyond appreciating the scutiny. Can you understand what I have said, and why? I've acknowledged what the rules say, but I/we are still having our posts I feel unfairly tampered with.
