Guest guest
Our son has hyperactive bladder and is under the care of a pediatric urologist. Before then, he did exactly what you described - he got wet even after hourly successful potty trips, particularly when he was tired and not focused. He is now on timed urination with the help of a watch that beeps at a set interval. We also " space out " his fluids so that his bladder won't be loaded with a lot of fluids all at once. A great hand-out on incontinence in children (physiology, management, good source for timers): http://urology.ucsf.edu/patientGuides/pdf/pedUro/Child_Continence_Clinic.pdf Hope this helps someone. ____ " E. See what I mean? It's not that he doesn't get going on the potty. He doesn't seem to " get " staying dry in the mean time OR he doesn't " get " the sensation of needing to go. Understand that he's already had so much " therapy " and coaching in this area that I think he'll need something " different " in order for him to learn it. We should definitely try reinforcement for being dry. I " m just wondering if there is anything " else " .
