Guest guest
Hi, In regards to the posting regarding BCBA .. I agree with in that there exist many BCBA's who have been certified, may have had a wonderful education and are very book smart, can quote principles etc etc .. but who have no conceptual analysis of what they are doing or why ... and have no experience in the trenches working directly with children. That said ... and just my own opinion, sometimes it's great if you as a parent can round up sincerely interested folks who are dedicated and are eager to learn and home grow your own expert ..send them to trainings in methods you approve of or wish to see used with your child (ie., a VB program vs. a more traditional Lovaas program) .. sometimes easier to start someone fresh with no prior experience in other types of ABA if what you really want is VB. Also ... try Burk's website .. she used to have a section of posts where parents and therapists can connect. If you can, keep learning yourself so you can share your knowledge with others who work with your child. You have the greatest EO to help. No one will ever care more than you.
