Guest guest
I know that Wellington carries it - in fact I just ran out - they have a pretty good one, in my opinion - unfortunately, they have like a $100 minimum order. What kind of soap are you wanting to make, MP or CP? I did make CP with bubble gum a couple of weeks ago and its not translating well - but I will hold off judgement til after the cure time. Guest guest
When my daughter was younger, and in the hitting stage (out of frustration over not being able to talk), I always took her hand and stroked my face, and said " show mama gentle. " I would follow that with telling her how much I loved her, and what a nice girl she was. She stopped within 3 months, because I think she finally knew that I understood why she was doing it (frustration). Hope this helps. Guest guest
Mellisa, My 2 cents on how to go about reducing these behaviors: You can show the child other means to overcome frustration. This is what I do for my 9 year old son: I draw stick figures, for example everytime he was asked to switch off the video game, he would throw a fit. So I drew stick figures of him playing the video game, mommy asking him to shut if off & he he throwing a fit. When asked " what is the problem? " , he would immedietly say " the problem is mommy asked me to switch it off " . Then I would redraw the stick figures & tell him " What could you have done " , I would then draw 3 other more acceptable solutions. He figured it out & started to voice his frustration rather than acting out. Hope that helps, Suman wrote: There are 8 messages in this issue. Hi, My name is Florea and I am an ABA therapist who has been working with children who have autism for about four years now. I currently work with an eleven year old boy who has an issue with spitting, among other various destructive behaviors...I was wondering if anyone could help me out...He spits when he is upset/frustrated or when he doesnt get what he wants. (other behaviors include scratching, attempts to bite, kicking, pinching, and just recently pulling hair) Almost everyone who is in this boy's life gets a chance to see all of these behaviors one time or another. When he spits at home, eveyone is pretty consistent about telling him no and to clean it up. This is not working with me, He continues to spit no matter how many times I tell him to stop/no etc. It is more frustrating than it is hurting anything (like the scratching etc), I just don't know what to do anymore. Can anyone help me out? Please and thanks- ________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________
