Guest guest
We are currently teaching a coloring program to a boy 3.5 yrs old. We have him color various shapes apx. 5 " diameter with a heavy outline. The initial criteria was for him to color in the area with no white showing through no bigger than that of the size of a quarter. This so far has been accomplished but we have found that he doesn't seem to know when to stop coloring. So, today I decided to model first and upon finishing I stated, " All done. " ; then had him color his paper. I waited for him to color the entire shape and waited for any kind of pause which did happen. Fortuneatly at the pause he looked up at me; so at that time requested him to say, " All done. " and prompted him to put the crayon down. I think I am headed in the right direction. I would appreciate any suggestions or programs others may have run that would teach the concept of when one is finished with an activity.
