Guest guest
I am soooo tired and sleepy I keep forgetting everything I want to write. You should be tested for any stomach or intestinal infections and inflammations. Your ESR and hormones should also be tested. Make sure you don't have blood in your stool. Of course, it's not always visible to the naked eye. Also, eat smaller meals (that is, when you can make yourself eat at all) and drink smaller servings of water/liquids. My severe nausea started in early 2004 after I had a dry cough with wheezing for weeks during the fall of 2003. *That *occured after I went to the tropics in the summer of 2003 and became sicker. I had taken liquid Flagyl because I had a problem with diarrhea, which, like a slap on the face, continued despite the antibiotic, which I believe played a HUGE role in destroying my health. I took metronidazole along with tetracycline as part of *Helidac* for a " gastric pathology " (not *H. pylori *of all things!) I was hesitant but that gastro was intimidating and I was having so much distress and getting nowhere so I finally gave in despite my fears of metronidazole. At that time, I hadn't made the connection between taking Flagyl and the destruction of my health. I only recently made that connection at the end of 2009 though a gastroenterogist in 2008 was convinced that the Flagyl caused a flareup of Crohn's which another gastro had diagnosed me with in March 2005. By early 2007, she changed the diagnosis to IBS because of some idiots, most of whom weren't even gastroenterologists, at Mt. Sinai. Anyway, Flagyl aka metronidazole can cause candida overgrowth or worsening of it if you already have it. Taking it along with antacids only makes it worse. Please people, don't take antacids indiscriminately and don't believe that they are harmless. Try something natural such as alo vera juice or gel. One teaspoon mixed in water works for me, now that my acid reflux is not as bad as it used to be. I continued to have horrible nausea on and off until 2006 or so. Oftentimes, it was accompanied by heavy menstrual bleeding with BIG clots and LOTS of intense pain. Doctors were useless when it came to treating the symptoms and managing the pain. I lost and regained 5 lbs. more than once after the initial loss of 12 lbs. in early 2004. Later, at the end of 2006, an ultrasound showed I had a gallstone. More recent findings include a mildly enlarged liver and fatty infiltration of the liver and biliary duct crystals and high cholesterol and triglycerides. I am scared to think it but maybe I have PBC (primary biliary cirrhosis)? I had one gastro tell be back in the fall of 2007 that I should get my gallbladder removed and that, had I been a male patient, they would have removed it already! I hate the misogyny prevalent in " modern " medicine. It stinks and reeks of Freudian pseudo-science. Hysteria??!! WTF!!! Lawsuits ahoy!!!
