Guest guest
Wondeful news!! What are you giving him? Mandi in UK My son who is 3.8 yrs old, has started Acknowledging other kids in the classroom. Yes teachers always told me that, he will go and hug and kiss the other children all by himself. Today when i took him to his friend's house, he not only glanced at her, but was going and holding her hand playing " ring-a-ring-a-roses " , hugging her, looking into her eyes for a long time, was riding on the bicycle with her. We used her as his teacher and she actuallly took some drills like " matching " and imitation with him. All the time he was responding to her with very very less prompts. We had tried socialisation with my son last year with the same kid, but he was hardly interested.

I just love to hear stories like this. My son does this on very rare occasions. He goes up and hugs and holds hands and smiles in to the childs face and then doesn't seem to know what to do next. Sometimes he even looks at me as if he never seen me before. Sometimes there has been times where he has took me to hubbie sat us both down and then looks from one to the other smiling as if he wanted to tell us something. unfortunately for us he then disappears - gone. I remember vividly one day we were having dinner in a friends house and out of the blue he started to tease our host and going up close, full eye contact etc and then running into the next room for her to follow. She was so moved she started to cry- very different from the aloof, indifferent discconnected child I know. Is this familiar to anyone? Manisha looking forward to hearing more progress Aileen
