Now you have me seriously thinking about going 90 miles to the Mayo Clinic for a

complete workup. I just may do that. I'm so tired of these constant headaches

that I'm ready to find out if there is anything else causing them.

You matter to me and to everyone in the group. Perhaps you can see a

different neuro doctor. I know you have probably posted before but I don't

recall what happened to your neck. Have you tried physical therapy? Aqua

therapy in a warm pool might be helpful to muscle pain. It is obvious that

you are depressed are you seeing a counselor?

I hope you feel better soon.

I injured my neck at work by ramming my shoulder into a 2,000 object with wheels

that has seen better years. i herniated c4-5 and c5-6. I saw a surgeon but he

told me I was just fine with normal herniations do that frequently in Washington

state because most company's carry state funded workers comp insurance. Its

cheaper. Even tho you are covered its kind of like carrying fire insurance on

your new house that only pays out $1,000 for your house. If you don't agree with

the doctors evaluation you are legally entitled to a second opinion but they pay

next to nothing for that and even less for treatment coarse your primary

insurance is then legally entitled to refuse to cover your injury because you

are supposedly covered by your workers comp insurance and hundreds of people are

in the same boat in this state. I have had physical therapy but it is doing

very littlest does provide some relief for a few minutes until I leave the

office and actually have to use my arm to drive homelands in this state if you

have a claim and it has been accepted by the state you can't get legal counsel

because there is nothing for them to sue for and no money to be made you can be

injured and covered by insurance and denied treatment all at the same time. Its

quite common here also have low income state insurance from the state here. Low

income people can get insurance on a sliding scale from 0 $ to whatever. They

are also in the same boat as most doctorS won't accept them as patients. Why

would you accept a patient into a 15 minute slot whose insurance comp. pays $25

when your normal fee is $65 and you have lots of other bodys who have insurance

that will pay you your 65$. Yes I'm sure, I am depressed was injured in early

July and have been getting progressively worse with no treatment available and

no tests except an MRI. I have called about a 100 doctors and or clinics and

maybe 30 lawyers and none of them will have anything to do with me as soon as

they find out its a work related injury and I am seeking a second opinion.

Hi there,

First of all, I know how you feel. I have often felt in the past that

no one in the medical field gave a crap. My former doctor seemed

totally indifferent, and just sat there at every appointment. Apart

from the first couple of visits after I first hurt my back in

Feb/2003, he didn't even examine me. If I asked him a question (eg.

why am I in so much pain? - and when is it going to stop?), he would

just shrug and give some vague, placating answer. It was enraging!

Especially since I was dealing with all those emotions that come with

chronic pain anyway, like frustration, anger, fear, hopelessness and

sadness. I am still dealing with these emotions, but now I have a

great doctor and physio who are actually working hard to help me.

All I can say is, hang in there. And maybe try to go for some

counselling. I only went a couple of times in my darkest days, but it

was really useful. Just talking to an objective, sympathetic listener

is very cathartic. He also gave me some wise and useful suggestions

to help with my downward spiral into depression.

I have also found being a part of this group to be very very helpful.

Everyone here knows what you are talking about because we are all

dealing with the same issues. I have gotten lots and lots of advice

and help and comfort from all the wonderful people here.

Take care of yourself, and here is a big cyber-hug for you -
