Guest guest
Lori... Unfortunately one of the biggest problems is getting the right mix of meds at the proper dose to make things work... We and many have gone thru the same thing...and tried many different meds...and everyone is from somewhere else in the world...so this seems to be a pretty common problem..The waiting is very difficult....especially as a parent...we hate to see our children hurting in any way...and we want it fixed right now....but that is not reality... I hope that things are figured out soon and that ns counts stablize and that she has a successful school year.... Luanne Ty's mom
Guest guest
Hi Lori, CellCept or Mycophenolate as it's called in the UK, is sometimes used to help control AIH when other treatment such as pred and Imuran (Azathioprine) don't seem to help. CellCept, Cyclosporin (Neoral), Tacrolimus (Prograf) all limit tissue rejection during and following organ transplant surgery, but is also used for AIH patiens. Ursodeoxycholic Acid (Destolit, Urdox, Ursofalk, Ursogal) has also proven to be very effective for AIH. I would talk to your doctor about these drugs, but your doctor will know what is best. All the best and please let me know how you get on. If you have any questions or need some info on drugs or anything else just visit the AIH website at http://www.AutoImmuneHepatitis.co.uk Matt Hastings http://www.MattHastings.com --- Lorcan4@... wrote: > Hi > > I just got a call from 's Dr. her levels are > up again in the 100-140 > range. Guest guest
I can not help you because I am just starting down this path. But, could you tell me the phone number of who used for these test? Thank you Bonnie Hi all...I am in need of some advice. I have received my sons labs back and am not sure where to begin. He is currently taking nu-thera 2x per day and TMG 1x per day. He also takes 600mg am and 1200 mg pm trileptal for seziures and .00125mcg of synthriod for hypothyriodism (his thyriod burned out about 3 or 4 years ago of which I know now that some of this is related). He weighs 90 pounds for reference. He came back with elevated antimony and cadmium. We will be using DMSA for that. He also came back with high Glutathione (he does not take this as a supplement), his serum zinc was low and NonCeruloplasmin Copper was way elevated (he takes anitseizure medication) and his Copper to Zinc ratio came back high. My question is..I know B6 and Zinc are used to combat copper, but how do I know how much to give based on his current supplementation? And...does anyone know of a good brand to use? As far as the glutathione, I am not sure what it means and what if anything I should do about it. Thank you all for any help you can give me on this. Guest guest
The only way to really get intelligent answers to your questions are to type in exactly what he is taking, how ofte, describe whta he is like, and put in the test results in detail. Generally armour thyroid, or thyrolar, or a 1:4 combination of cytomel and levoxyl/synthroid is far, far superior to synthroid. Using only synthroid will quite predictably result in reduced intelligence as an adult. It is crucially important DMSA be used properly, which is every 4 hours or more often. This kind of detail is necessary to be able to give sensible answers, just saying " we are using DMSA for this " is not very helpful. What test did he come back with eelvated antimony and cadmium on? Do nothing about the glutathione until you know plasma cysteine levels. The copper/zinc stuff is a lot less informative than often believed. The actual lab results are informative. Guest guest
I used great plains for the advanced metallotionein profile _Autism Test - Test for Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), Autism-like syndrome and Autistic related Disorders te.._ (http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/home.htm) They will mail the test kits to your house. For the metals test. I have heard that you should actually do a hair test, but I am too new to say which is better,..someone else should let you know. The doctor will have to order the kit from this place. _Doctor's Data, Inc._ (http://www.doctorsdata.com/)
Guest guest
A pleasant day! I am Millano from the Philippines seeking for an advice/help on how I can be formally trained in ABA. Are there universities giving scholarships to foreign students? Is there any job that provides one-to-one instructional and behavioral program with extensive training and supervision wherein my qualifications can fit in as a tutor/therapist? and that can give an opportunity to obtain Master's Degree in ABA while working? I've earned the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, taking up my Master's in Child Study and a Professional Licensed Teacher in our country. At present I'm teaching children with autism giving an ABA inspired curriculum under a certified consultant from abroad. I've seen the effectivity of the program with my students, and I'm willing to learn more to reach out for other children with autism in our country. Thank you in advance and God bless! Sincerely, kathryn
Guest guest
Hi I believe Northeastern University has a program where you work at the New England Center for Children and also attend Northeastern University in their Masters program in ABA, they have grad assistantships that are all paid for - here is a link: http://www.necc.org/employment_opportunities/jobs_gradassistants.asp and here is one about the programs NECC runs with the university: http://www.necc.org/graduate_studies/masters_aba.asp There may be other programs like this, you can also look at the ABA website, they list all the graduate programs that offer ABA or behavioral psychology or special ed program with an ABA focus. http://www.abainternational.org/ and look under graduate programs.
