Vitamin B shots and fibromyalgia

I know quite a few people on this list also suffer from fibromyalgia and

wanted to ask a question. I saw my rheumatologist yesterday and he now has

me giving myself weekly Vitamin B shots. Has anyone else used this for

fibromyalgia? Does it seem to work? Just curious.

Hi Cherie:

I take Vit. B12 shots, because I've been told that the medication that is given

to me for the pain depletes Vit B12, so I was taking these shots, but after a

while the doctor told me that it was not necessary and it does not do anything

for me as it is a placebo. I was shocked, because I could swear it gave me a

gust of energy. I dont have fibromyalgia, but I have a very painful condition

called post-traumatic syringomyelia and the pain is constant without any relief,

but the medicine just makes me into a zombie and that is why I started taking

the B12 shots. Hope this helped.

Hi

I am taking oral Vitmain B 12 and enzymes plus horsechestnut or

horsetail herbs. Willow bark helps me...this applies me...it is up to

the person if they want to take herbs to help.

I'll probably find the answer later on...but, I can give an answer to this

question.

I'm now finally seeing a very good doctor who has been treating RSD patients

for over 20 years now, plus any Chronic Pain Patients at this moment.

I've asked him about odds and ends that I've heard about online from

friends...including Vitamins, whether they've been pill form, or shots.

According to my doctor, there is actually no Medical Info saying that Vitamins

really helps or not, all there is are Patients saying it does for some, it

doesn't for others.

So, in that retrospect, he refuses to actually do anything like that, but will

tell me whether he's had other patients thats tried that or not.

As for the sweating....I can soak 2 pillows and my whole side of the waterbed in

a night. Its Partially Caused by the RSD....because RSD affects our Body

Temperatures. But, the sweating can also be caused by some of the meds that we

are taking too.

Thats what I've learned in the past 3 years so far...
