Apologies for the belated reply. Interestingly, Paediatricians in the UK are

also encroaching on child psych territory. Or is it the other way round since

the 2 main conditions where there are parallel services include ADHD and Autism.

I can imagine these are the two growth areas in the US with Govt funding for the

latter and pharmas pushing medication for the former. Bipolar has still not

caught on here and is mostly dealt by very specialist centres. Personally I have

come across only 2 cases in 15 years in child mental health. I have also been

developing more of an interest in Infant Mental Health. Would love to attend the

annual conference of AACAP, especially if its in Chicago!

BTW, Have you heard about the reunion being planned by MGIMS UK alumni in Sept

with Dr and Mrs Ulhaas Jajoo as guests of honour. We still remember your dash

across the ocean to attend the last one. I can send you the details if you are

interested and hopefully this time you can come with your family with a bit of

notice so we can host you properly!!
