Guest guest
It is rather late in the day to be writing up on a re - reunion that happened two weeks ago, but better late than never, I guess. The batch of 1982 had a re-reunion in Nagpur between the 25th and 27th of November. Organised by Sharmila Kanthale '82 and Kshama Aher '82, the reunion was called " Happiness '82 " . More than a third of the batch attended the get- together . While most of the alumni who came were based in India, Malini Panchapagesan, Ahuja and Archana Jha made it from the UK, and Sanjay Nicose made it from Muscat. Tarvinderji Oberoi, Sanjay Marwah, Ashok Mehendale, and me, were the " non-82 batch " alumni attendees :-) Dr. Shiv Kumar (Poonam Verma's husband) is so much an intrinsic part of every alumni get together, that it is difficult to remember that he is not an MGIMS alumnus - various batches have already adopted him ! It was indeed a pleasure to meet Tarvinderji in person - I'd never met him earlier. Poonam Verma'82 put up a an awesome fusion dance on the song " Zoobie Doobie " from the movie " Three idiots " . The concept was classy, and I am sure Amir Khan would have chosen this format, had he seen it ! Sangita Jindal and her husband acted out a hilarious parody on a medely of songs - there was amazing talent on show ! The generous hospitality of Preetibala's brother had to be seen to be believed - there was a sumptuous dinner at his house, with the entire bunch of aumni invading their home. Many alumni went to Sewagram to meet their teachers, and visit the ashram. Nostalgia was in the air when they returned to Nagpur. I guess it is re - reunion time now, with the '79 batch get together, and then the '82 batch. There is something special about MGIMS, that brings the alumni together, time and again. Ciao, till next time, Prabha '
