Dentinogenesis imperfecta

Hello everybody,

I have a 2 year old male patient with Dentinogenesis imperfecta. My understanding is that this involves dentin dysplasia, mineral imbalance (calc flor, calc phos, hydroxyapatite), improper type I collage formation, matrix signalling and encoding and possibly vitamin D deficiency.

Patient's dentist wrote to my patient's mom the following:

"the tooth buds for his permanent teeth are already formed before birth. So if there is an anomaly, it is likely already in progress. From my understanding, the anomaly is in the attachment mechanism between the enamel and the dentin, not from a mineral deficiency."

Has anybody dealt with his condition with success, i.e. that permanent teeth will come out normal after the naturopathic treatment? Are there are other conditions I should be looking for in association with Dentinogenesis imperfecta?

I would appreciate Dr. Thom's comments and advise.

Thank you,

Zoya
