He doesn't like doing that kind of stuff (bowling/sports), so they are likely only going to get language out of him (via sign language--he does not speak) only for things he strongly desires which has been his pattern of learning. They've only recouped 27% of those skills so they have some work to do. I respect that that might be a good choice for some kids, but for my kiddo, it's not. I've opted out of the Community-Based Instruction because he doesn't have any community based goals in his IEP and he hates being around other kids. I asked them specifically what they had in mind for CBI and they said they didn't exactly know, so I told them until they could tell me exactly what they planned to do, he was a no.
