Guest guest
: Try contacting Vicki Thorn at the National Office of Post Abortion Reconciliation and Healing at noparh@... . During her Project training sessions she talks quite a bit about the biochemistry of the women she works with and should have all the studies she uses for this. That question about the grieving process is right up her alley. Rhonda Horner-Bohaty Nebraska Catholic Conference OT hormonal changes after abortion-question Hello friends A statement that was made to me recently makes no sense. I would love to have some feedback. Here it is: It takes about a year for a woman's hormone levels to return to normal after she has had an abortion, and so she is not able to fully enter into the grieving process before a year. What would be the medical reason for this, and can anyone steer me towards any studies to look at? Thanks so much for your help. Guest guest
I took her training too, years ago. She mentioned a study that indicated that there are some type of cells of the aborted fetus that remain in the mother for the rest of her life. Almost a permanent genetic marker that the child was there once. I've never been able to find this study. Does this make sense to anyone?Rhonda Horner-Bohaty wrote: : Try contacting Vicki Thorn at the National Office of Post Abortion Reconciliation and Healing at noparh@... . Guest guest
This page has an article by Vicki Thorn http://www.nbccongress.org/health_wellness/silent_soul_wound.asp It states in part: " Abortion is not a non-event. It does not erase the fact of the pregnancy that began. Some little known, but profound research reported by a Vatican conference in 2000, states that women carry cells from every child they ever conceive the rest of their lives. These cells are lodged in the part of the brain where instinct lies and continue to be interactive, even 37 years later. Women never forget the children they conceive. " She spoke on the biophysiology of sex at the Couple to Couple League Convention (http://convention2004.ccli.org) we gave here in the Chicago area this past summer. I thought her talk was the most intriguing of the conference. Skokna :-) Drew wrote: > I took her training too, years ago. Guest guest
: She cites a lot more in her most recent training, particularly mentioning hormones, biochemistry and timing of treatment and what is going on chemically on her brain at the time she comes in. I have the audio CD's of it, if you want me to copy and send to you. Just e-mail me off-list with your address. I would be happy to do it. Guest guest
I contacted Vicki Thorn from Project She said that she has not seen any research and cannot find any research that shows that women have this big hormonal shift around the due date, but that it is anecdotal information coming from women in Canada. And she also said their doctors are telling them this. I do not understand, if it is purely anecdotal that a protocal for care for post-abortive can be set on this information. I am trying to understand, but the NFP practitioner in me cannot find the logic in this. I understand the stem cells being present after a woman becomes pregnant, but it is the hormonal surge theory I am not able to grasp. Any suggestions? I also coordinate our Project program. I really need some advice here. Thanks for any and all help you can send my way. Lepak OKC ArchdioceseHanna Klaus wrote: who made the statement, and which hormones were they speaking about? Guest guest
I am questioning the entire concept of a big hormonal shift? Could it be these words are being used loosely to describe feelings and behavior, which are being attributed to hormones?
