Guest guest
Those are fantastic stats. Congrats on reaching your goals. Did you take any before and after pictures. If so you should post them. I would be bragging to the whole world if that I were you. Just curious when did you first starting seeing results? I am on week 4 and have not much yet besides an increased energy level. Guest guest
Wow- fantastic results !!! I'm sure you will look great in that bridesmaids dress (I'm positive you will have to have it refitted that's quite a change in size you've made!) > Well, I ended my first Challenge on Sat. and here are my final stats. > Start End > weight 165 148 > body fat 32.5% 20.6% > waist 36 " 30 " > hips 42 " 36 " > chest 42.5 " 39.5 " > thigh 23 " 21 " > size 14-16 10-12 > Gained 6 lbs muscle and lost 23 lbs fat. > My initial goals were > 1.Lose 30 lbs > 2. get in a size 10 > `3.Tone up muscles and get stronger > 4.Learn to resist temptation, and stick with 12 weeks. > 5.Look good in that bridesmaids dress (I'm in my friends > wedding in June and feeling like 37 is way too old for a > bridesmaid, when I ever put on the dress,I had to get a size 18 to fit > into it.It looked awful, flabby arms, big gut ,yuk!) > That was my initial motivation to start dieting in Dec.I lost 13 lbs > before I started the challenge(feb19) so 30 lbs lighter now.(I > decided 30lbs for the Challenge was probably unrealistic) I'm > wondering if I'll have to have the dress remade by June, actually I'm > hoping I will.I guess besides the 30 lb thing that I've met my goals > this Challenge and I expect I will make my goals a little more > defined for the next one.Taking this week off ,sort of.Still watching > what I eat and exercising just not as hard.Just wanted to thank > everyone for the motivation and advice. >
Guest guest
Wow, impressive results. Looks like you ended up getting into the size you want without losing lbs. You should easily meet the 30 lb goal with one more challenge. Well done!! Guest guest
The Body for Life Challenge. Challenge 1 is your first 12 week challenge, Challenge 2 is your second 12 week challenge, etc. You can do up to 4 challenges per year since you will likely take off 1 week between each challenge. If you began BFL at age 18 and lived to be 85, you could complete Challenge 804. Of course, long before that that point, you would probably stop counting since BFL would be so ingrained into your life. Andyman > What is Challenge 1,2 etc? > I keep seeing this and I dont know what it is? > lol > Go ahead throw the dumbbell at the HUMAN DUMBBELL > LMBO > > I just started this today....and I need as many sites (by BLF'ers who > have done the program....I cant find any...) to keep me motivated...I > belong to like 20 Yahoo clubs and groups....but I want websites of those > who have done this. > > Thanks .....I know I can do this.... > I want this SO BAD! > Night Night! Guest guest
Thanks AndyMan, I thought that is what Challenge 1, 2 etc was lol I'm surprised someone answered. ON other boards they make you look like a dummy. I am new to this BFL thing and I want HELP lol Question.....I cant get to a gym for various reasons....my work schedule is not steady...and I weigh over 250 lbs..... I am embarrased to go to a gym...I was humiliated years ago when I joined Bally's and I havent been back since...hence the reason I shot up to 278 lbs. Can I use workout tapes, but heavy up on the weights? What should I do? Someone please help me.....I have free weights in these sizes.....#2, #3, #5, #8, and #10. I cant lift above that lol This fat is killer stuff lol The tapes I have are by the Firm and they are BIG on weight training.... Anyone have suggestions.... Guest guest
Hi, BabyBlue, Welcome to BFL! We are glad to have you. And don't be afraid to ask anything here. Everyone is very nice and very informative! I weigh over 200 lbs ... working my way down! On Challenge 2 :-) And I don't go to a gym at all. I have a bunch of hand weights and I work out in my basement. IF you have the BFL book, a good portion of the exercises can be done with hand weights. You definitely don't have to join a gym to be a bfl-er! I would follow the exercises in the book with the weights you have now. Then as you feel stronger you might need to buy heavier weighs but I think you have a great start! Good luck! And yell anytime! Guest guest
I'm sure someone here can give some good advice on the weight training. You indicated that you have some weights to start with. I began BFL only using dumbells and it is a great workout. Pick some of the exercises in the book for dumbells. Get a bench and you will be set to work out at home. You can spend as little as $30 on a bench. I have one of the el-cheapo benches that I began with and have upgraded to the one from Body-Solid. I still use them both for different lifts. You should be able to increase your intensities with the weights that you have. If you feel they are too light, you will need to invest in more weights. Since you are saving money, by not belonging to a gym, consider this a good investment. I am not sure what to tell you about weight workout tapes. Are you considering using them on your cardio days? If you can do it at different intensities, I don't see why you couldn't use them. However, it might not be good to use them with weights since you will have already lifted on other days.
