Is teaching language possible???

Hi ,

I can't understand why people pretend they can teach language.

Is language the mean to express your thoughts, emotions...?

If yes, why do you think you can teach someone how to express his thoughts

and emotions?

If you do it(teaching language) as you pretend, don't you already have

manipulated the students thoughts and emotions and have modelled his

thoughts and emotions... and try to sell this as the student ones??

Is the communication problem of autistic children reduced on not having the

mean to express themselves?

Or better do you must be verbal before having a verbal behavior?

If yes:

you are teaching something what was already acquired but you pretend that is

not so (if we admit that beeing verbal = having language)

If not:

you are teaching something that not exist.

EXPLANATION:

VB= To have a behavior that includes verbal behavior = a part of your

behavior is a verbal behavior.

The question is are you verbal or not?

If yes : You already have a VB

if no : You have no behavior at all.

Is teaching language possible???

I have a 4 years old autistic child and I know that VB works, but I can't

understand why it works!

Could someone understand what I mean (I'm not a native speaker)

Cheers,

Mehdi
