On

August 16, 2010 the New York State Departments of Health and State issued the

following notice and request for comments (adapted from the original).

----------

Dear Interested Party:

The New York State Departments of Health and State will accept comments from

the public on the draft report of the New York State Toxic Mold Task Force

until October 12, 2010.

http://www.nyhealth.gov/environmental/indoors/air/mold/task_force/docs/toxic_mold_task_force_report.pdf

Comments are particularly sought on the report's major recommendations

regarding prevention and remediation of mold in buildings through the reduction

or prevention of building dampness, alternatives for government guidance on

work practices for assessment and remediation, including existing training

curricula, other possible regulatory approaches, and increased public education

and outreach messages. Comments on any portion of the report are also welcome.

People gave comments during the public meetings of the Task Force and also sent

information to the Task Force while it prepared the draft report. That material

is available on a separate CD and can be requested.

Public comments received during the comment period will be considered by the

Task Force as it revises and finalizes the report and will be included in the

final report. All comments should be submitted by October 12, 2010. When

commenting on a specific section of the report, please identify the section and

page number to which the comment refers. People submitting comments are

encouraged (but not required) to include their name and contact information

with their comments in case clarification regarding a comment would be useful.

Comments can be submitted by email to: moldtf@...
