heat. I know some people get seasonal depression in the winter, but I get it in

the summer. Summer can be just so oppressive here with the 3 H's (hazy, hot,

and humid), and I'm sure Texas has Washington, D.C. beat in these areas. You

hanging in there and doing your taebo.

Hi Susuan

Reading your letter and what you eat and looks so familiar, not alot of

food but alot of carbs. Sounds like you have might have a problem with

them. I watched what I ate my whole life, calories, low fat and it

wasn't until I went low-carb that I have lost weight and kept it offand

feel satisfied like I 'm not even dieting. I also carried more weight

from waist up and its the first time I lost weight all over. Just a

thought that might help you out, I know more here are doing the WW

thing, but whatever works for you and makes you happy and it must be an

eating plan you can live with forever. I do miss breads, pasta and junk

food and yup I fall off wagon but get right back on. I eat alot of

veggies like broccoli, green beans and use cauliflower as my potato

substitute. Nothing I used to like better for dinner then a bowl of

cereal. I didn't eat alot of food or calories but I ate ALOT of

carbs(the wrong thing for my body) and they were causing me to store fat

instead of burning it. I've been eating this way for about 2 yrs(50 lbs

lost 10 from goal) and I also just got back into Taebo (broken VCR) I

try to do it every day. I just got the AL vol 1,2,3 and love them.

Whatever you choose just think positive and good things will come.

Take care.....

PS Theres alot of books to read on LC...I do Protein Power but also read

Atkins, Carb Addict and Sugar Busters and all are great.

Hi Judie!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I really needed them. I really

can tell a difference in my muscles, my butt is ALOT tighter, you can

actually see a curve instead of just a blob going down into big thighs.

It was just really frustrating to wake up that morning and have my jeans

be so much tighter. I think part of it was salt/water retention from

the fajitas. And it really hasn't gone down yet, because I am having

them for leftovers! Oh, well...I will KOKO!! Keep on kicking on....

Oh, about Florida being the armpit - I'm from the Corpus Christi, TX

area - the bottom of the armpit!! I completely understand...that

humidity and heat is just unbelievable. It makes it feel like you are

in a sauna!

K in Texas

Elena,

Thank you so much. You and all the others on this list are just

great!! I agree about the seasonal depression in the summer - I think I

have more of a problem then, as well. I love fall and spring, and I can

handle winter pretty well. I think because we get so little rain and

cold weather at times, that I really appreciate sitting and listening to

rain, inside snuggled up with a good book and a blanket. I know that

winter is not going to last that long down here. Now the summer is

something else - most of the time, like this year, we didn't even have a

spring or even really a winter. It went straight from fall to summer!!

My mom bought all of this winter clothes for my dd, and she didn't even

get to wear 2 sweaters, it never got cold enough!!

I also appreciate being reminded that I am a fighter, I am for my kiddos

and I can be for myself. I NEED to be one for myself. I just need a

little reminding once in awhile!

Regards,

K in Texas

Romie,

It's nice to know someone else understands how it feels. It helps to

know that you make it through it all, and that I can too, I just need to

relax and let it pass, and then pick up and get going again when I can.

I hate those flare-ups, and they do come after an improvement, prob

cause we forget and then kind of get careless and overdo things. (Or at

least, I know that is my problem! I start feeling good, and push myself

a little more, find out that that's ok, push a little more and then -

WHAM!! It definitely let's you know it's there!)

Thanks for the encouragement and the understanding.

Regards,

K in Texas
