Guest guest
I am greateful for your posted email. You've renewed my sense of " able " instead of DIS-abled Do you have other illness? I understand what goes with cfs but have not heard the term orthostatic intolerance. Yes I have a certain time of the day my body starts shutting down and I have to rest. Originally I thought this was due to the hypoglycemia I have, but now I'm not sure. There are so many many things wrong with me, there are days when it just doesn't matter. Again, Thank You Toni for your post. ----- Original Message ----- From: Toni Marshall Yes, . I use my recliner as a tool for treatment of Orthostatic Intolerance since it literally means my body cannot " tolerate " the upright position, neither standing nor sitting. Being either / and still and upright causes bizarre heart rate and blood pressure anomalies. A recliner allows me to lie back all day without feeling like I'm in bed all day. Lying in bed is different than reclining. Yes, your friends are correct about resting so much causing deconditioning leading to more physical problems including dehydration. But what is an OI person to do? We do The best we can.
