Hi , I was on 320 mg oxi a day plus MSIR and valium. My Doc changed the

Oxicontin to 2 100 mcg patches every other day. I went through some real

bad withdrawals from the oxicontin. On the patch covers to you know what

they charge (they are closed). my insurance will not pay for them. I

have been using cloth medical tape to hold them on. But the pain control

is allot better with the patch. Good Luck

Thanks

Tom

Hi

Amytripline is known to make many people crave carbohydrates. There

are other drugs that can be taken in place of it but they all come with their

own side effects. Being aware of certain side effects can help you in dealing

with them.

sleep?

I took amitriptyline for three months and gained a bunch of weight and had

wicked nightmares. Since I've always been quite thin, it was obvious to the

both my doc and

I where the weight gain was coming from. Luckily when I stopped taking

amitriptyline, the weight came off fairly easily and the nightmares stopped too.

I use a sleep med that is not available in the US, but since I started taking

the minimum dose of Effexor XR, I haven't needed the extra sleep med very often.
